I am pretty big at 6'-4", so I like a larger watch with some heft. I am happy with the size, weight, and overall styling of the watch and would definitely recommend it. The strap has a great clasp, and is a very appropriate scale and style to the watch but of much lesser quality. The brown color looks darker in the photos than in real life, and the tanning is a color that makes it look like fake leather. It is real leather, but it's an incredibly thin split grain that uses cheap white foam and a vinyl edge seal that has fallen apart after 6 months of use. That said, at fifty bucks for an automatic watch that looks like a couple hundred dollar watch, I can find a new strap. Read more
I purchased this watch as an experiment before buying a much more expensive "grail" watch that was the same shape and size. I wanted to make sure that I would like something this large before the purchase. After having this several months and wearing it when I am not comfortable with something more expensive for fear of damage... I have to say I am impressed for the money spent. The value is excellent. The strap is hard ugly plastic feeling but has held up very well. The watch itself is attractive and seems to be well made. By sight I thought the movement might be an NH35, but while it does hand wind, it does not hack. The main thing though... it is keeping very good time. I would call it a very good value for $50. A person could put a better strap on it and do a lot worse for a lot more money with some of the garbage I have seen available. If I run across someone at some point who really likes it I may give it away as I have done in the past. The difference this time is I will not feel like I gave away trash. I'm about a week in with this watch and I have to say I love it. While the band does make noise against the lugs sometimes and is definitely of cheaper quality, I find it to be decently comfortable and well built. The dial is gorgeous, and you're not going to find many other skeletons at this price point. I'm excited to see how the movement performs after a while and how scratch / bump / life resistant the watch is, and I'll update this review if something changes. Until then, five stars. Read more
This was purchased awhile ago(like 9 months ago) as an anniversary gift for my husband. (I had meant to leave a review sooner but I forgot and Amazon just reminded me to do it..) He loved it so much and wore it everywhere... For about 2 weeks... And then, one day, he accidentally scraped against a wall (close quarters at work) and the watch got these deep gouges.. He decided he didn't want to damage it further because he loved it so much.. So he stopped wearing it and it is now a paperweight. To say I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of this is really an understatement just because of the sadness he had when he showed me the damage like it was his fault this was shoddy quality. I spent too much on this for the "glass" to be able to be gouged by an accidental wall scrape. I understand there are more expensive watches out there I could have purchased, as I was originally looking at a much more expensive brand, but I saw this one and knew he would love this as it's all around his style, but it's really ridiculous to me that the quality of this is just that low. I wouldn't buy this again. I don't recommend it to anyone and I'm just overall still mad about it even 9 months later. Read more
