Subtle, tasteful and perfect for enhancing your Christmas Display
My review is long and detailed so SKIP to bottom if you don't care to read a novel. Forgive my spelling and typos and aging eyes… Subtle, tasteful and perfect for enhancing your Christmas Nativity or joyous display of the wonder of Christ birth the story we continue to celebrate its meaning. I purchased these and very large but simple Nativity set that I had always envisioned but never could get the energy, time, nor did I find the available choices very compelling. As the years passed and our society has sent manufacturing to China and India, tge artisan qualities have all but disappearred. If you could find a decent sized starter set it was cheaply made, cartoonish, or just way too comlicated to assemble and ended up looking like a afterthought, while your back, your patience and your wallet left you void of the whole Joy of its presence. Not ti mention the colorful language and impression of your Faith on your neighbors (they will know we are Christians by our love? Not my intension and if you are one if them please forgive me…🙂↕️🥺😟And who has money or time to experiment during tge already stressed schedules. The choices were left to the $10,000 Italian made “resin stone” statue set which was really beautiful, the cookie cutter China ones (which really seemed like a roll of the dice as far as expectation vs engineering level or handyman toolshop preparedness to mitigate the process) and luck in planning and researching thoroughly as budget and actual sizes became a game show mix and match nightmare. This year I decided to really take it seriously as we had, like most if us these past couple years, seen the death and declining health of close ones, and a general feeling if dismay in society. Christmas was always a time that brought joy to people even with its relative commercial aspect…It was joyous and the hustle and bustle was all part of teaching us how to deal with people that are different, traffic, crowded spaces, stress which all cane to a few hours of united focus on peace, unity and celebration as we put out best on display for one event. No winner or loser, no prizes or Beat in Show. Anyway I digress. This is a review I know…not a novel. I did my diligence and was blessed in locating a modestly priced hand craft made in USA full Nativity set that i could afford. But then it got worse. If you are putting up your own yard display you know this part And for a moment (just a tiny one) I suddenly felt forgiveness for the inflatables, and the horrid idea of Christ and His blow up Holy Mother who just endured that journey,,,now relegated to the punching bag, clown, floating frog with sunglasses production line. I thought, How am i going to display this so its not a Disco, doesnt blow the one of only two outdoor outlets in my mature home? But as my nativity doesnt arrive pre-lighted (I later appreciated this) but lighting is now like taxes, good luck on your own). I had to advance to the greater problem now. Thats where these came in PERFECTLY! I was able to place two sturdy spot lights in fromt if the set so the lighting was subtle and didint want a whole background of carnival lights, so my larger bare area in fring with dark background needed just few well placed, complimentary background utems that keot the whole scenario as I would imagine it. THE PRODUCT: The trees are a perfect size range and can fit in with a wide range if settibgs whether its a Nativy 18” high or life size full king/shepherd/angel/stable 12’ set, or to place with a nutcracker ir sleigh and Santa scene, the 3 sizes can be moved forward or back to create a 3D effect. Even with flat garden metal or solid color white pvc decir it really comes alive with the placement if these in densely crowded or sparse bare spots. They come pre-lit with a solid sqare base that has sufficient corner holes and orovided stakes that keep them secure (4 corners on the smallest and 6 on the larger- enough for crazy Notth Texas storms that blow shingles off so I am pleased and made careful adjustment and numerous changes in placement, which was quite easy thank you trees) They are well constructed and simply connect a few pcs, the electric cords are easy to move and long enough to modify so you are jot adding multiple extension cords to the spaghetti mix you have to disassemble at some point. Which reminds me to mention keeping the box! And outchasibg on if those centralize outdoor power stake / multi output timer/controller outlets (I purchased the BN-LINK Outdoor Power Stake Timer Waterproof, 24-Hour Mechanical Timer with 6 Grounded Outlets and was pleased with it even though its not heavy duty nir probably last more than a few seasons but still found it a game changer with all I had going) plus a few straight 6-12 ft extension cords, two or three pared off or parallel branched longer extension cords for a hub and spoke, (or some modified variations of star, mesh or point to point all work well with these trees) and the trees were very flexible as far as moving them to adjust…simply pulling up from ground with the stakes. I was surprised at how many people hire someone to do this now but I was able to do my whole yard ina few long nights - ot helps to place these at night wnd they are easily moved if you desire. Cant say that about the string lights UGH. My takeaway; avoid placing within a busy lighted space because they wont compete and are not meant to. You can add additional string lights but they lose their charm at that. And they dont have cords that have both the male and female receptacle ends, just the single larger plug in male connector with small transformer box assembly & a 6 ft cord fir parellel into a outlet port) so .they look realistic if you are wanting a subdued artistic without overpowering, nor competing yet providing enough light to see but nit distract whether you are in your home looking out tge window or driving down the road as a passerby. We live in a quiet older neighborhood at the bottom of a hill intersecting three winding roads. So it was a bigger task once i started but really teally happy (see pics) But they really look nice - my review comes down to that teally look nice with a garden pvc small display or a larger artangement needing some subtle additions. Add depth and provide flexibility within large scope if sizes. Read more
