I think they're PERFECT!
First, I absolutely can't stand wearing layers. Winter hit hard and fast this year, and I couldn't find my longjohns. I ordered this brand because they had good prices. When they first arrived I was underwhelmed by the silky feel and thinness. I used them on a cold morning and was impressed in every way- fit (I usually have to size up for sleeve length), warmth, and layerability. I actually LOVE these sets, and ordered more. Upon washing/drying the fleece actually fluffs a little thicker. I've worn the top under many types of shirts, and it doesn't bunch up or ride up my arm. It has great stretch and flexibility and seems to disappear under your clothes. No odd bunching or 'wings' in your armpits either. I will actually WEAR these longjohns! The bottoms are super stretchy but not tight. I don't like high waisted pants, and I think these are perfect. Depending on what I'm wearing them under I either leave them at 'my' waist height (they're thin enough to not see if they're not jacked up), or fold the waist band over once. The silkiness also makes it easy to slide your outer pants over. I can't stand layers, but I LOVE these. That means they function as they should instead of lining my dresser drawer.
