BGSD Men Connor Hooded Waterproof Toggle Down Parka Winter Coat

Great jacket, color is lighter than photos on website and is more of what I thought the blue should be. Pockets galore, outside: 2 that are perfect for your hands, 2 with snap closes for carrying things. Inside 2 zippered pockets one one each side and the hood is removable by zipper as well. The front can be closed by the toggles or zipper there's even snaps to hold the front closer flap closed. There are 2 flex cord adjustments at the bottom of the jacket to keep the wind out, as well as one for the opening of the hood around your face. The outside material feels to be of a heavy good quality fabric, and the inside lining feels great as well. The over all weight of the jacket is excellent having just enough heft to know when you put it on that your going to be warm. So far one of the best jackets I have ever bought and I highly recommend getting one for yourself or someone you love. I normally buy an XL but reading other reviews I ordered the XXL, the XL would have fit but I am happy with the XXL. Read more

This is a great coat. I never heard of this brand before, but I read the reviews, and the price was right, so I ordered it. It was delivered quickly, compactly folded up in a box so small that when I saw the box I thought it was sneakers I ordered. But any wrinkles that were present soon disappeared after I started wearing it. It's VERY warm. I used to need to wear sweaters and other layers under my coats to stay warm, but this eliminates the need for that. The pockets are roomy. It is light. The snaps that go up the cowl of the neck eliminating the need for scarves. However, the only reason I dont give this 5 stars is because the zipper is a 1-way zipper. It only goes up, to close the coat. I am used to parkas that have a zipper you can open upwards from a closed position, to facilitate getting change out of your pocket, or sitting in a car while the coat's side cargo pockets are full, especially if one of the items in your pocket is a notebook that doesn't fare well from being bent around. The flaw of this omission in zipper design was further highlighted during a walk in the woods on a cold day. It was necessary for me to urinate, so I naturally went behind a tree where no one could see me (except for some squirrels, who didn't mind). My coat pockets were full... gloves, a compact pair of binoculars, a phone, and 2 regular sized harmonicas. Hiking the coat to unzip and keep it unzipped for the duration of time necessary to do my business was an uncomfortable endeavor. The coat needs to be unzipped to execute this function. And you need to empty the pockets out, ejecting larger items, if you're going to drive with this coat in. And that is the only problem I have with this coat. Read more

I ordered the large in this coat. I am 5'10", 175 and usually take large. It is roomy, but living in MN one layer is never enough so I have extra room inside. But it's not so large I can't wear it with a shirt alone. It seems well made, the fabric is sturdy, and it is warm! I like that the hood has a wide flap in front that allows coverage of my lower face to protect against severe wind chill. I have the dark blue, but I'm sure black would be great also. The horn buttons and loops are decorative only, but not unattractive. Good buy for me! Read more

Very nice jacket that fit well. Purchased an XXL for a 50 inch chest, 34 arms, 36 waist. I have no issues with the construction or zippers and the pockets are deep and functional. I would suggest a water repellent spray treatment since any down and feather filled jacket will quickly lose its ability to insulate once it gets wet. As the description says the jacket is water resistant, not water proof. The jacket fashion will go well with casual and well dressed apparel so you can keep warm and still look good for any occasion. For the price the coat is plenty warm so far in 30 degree weather with windy conditions. I have yet to wear it sub 30 but in 30 degree weather with nothing but a T-shirt and this coat zipped up 3/4 of the way I was sweating after a short walk. It also has plenty of storage space and actual side pockets. I absolutely love the hood as well. As a 6'7" guy finding coats with hoods that actually cover your head is like looking for a unicorn. This hood has plenty of room to comfortably cover your head with a cap or beanie on. My only gripe is that this coat is sized extremely large in width. I purchased a large originally and it was far too wide for an athletic frame and the coat was awkwardly long. I'm 6'7", 220lbs, with a 45" chest and 32" waist and a medium fit me perfectly with plenty of room for layering. I highly suggest ordering a size down than what you normally purchase. Read more

Needed a big jacket for a long trip in US and Canada this winter and this parka jacket looks really good and at a discounted price. I was not sure which size to order and the previous reviews were really helpful. I am 5'9", 43" Chest and 34-35" waist. If I followed the item's description, I would have ordered a 'L' but the reviews convinced me to go for 'M'. The 'M' size is almost a 'L' to my other clothes. Even zipped up, still have a couple of inches to spare for under layers. Setting aside the size issue, the jacket is well made with good quality material. Update (18-MAR-2019): I have been wearing this parka for about a week in -5 C to -10 C weather. Stayed outdoor for a couple of hours at times and did not feel a bit cold at all. The hood help a lot in high wind chill conditions. Very satisfied with this jacket keeping me warm. Read more
