This is the fifth set of shower curtain hooks of this style that I've purchased since 2018. I went thru three Better Homes sets of the same type, they lasted about 2 years each before getting extremely rusty and pitted, so I decided to try something else. I got a set of another popular and recommended brand on Amazon but, I opted for a set that was painting thinking they might hold up longer. HUGE mistake, within just a few months the painted coating started to rub off in the form of paint dust and was getting all over my shower rod and curtains and it was already starting to rust under the balls where there was no paint. This paint dust started to run when it got wet and actually wrecked my curtain and liner which, lead me back here for a new BigFoot curtain and new hooks so, I thought I'd give these a try and so far, they are still in good shape. It's only been a month or so with them up, and I have realistic expectations and if they last more than 2 years, I'll be happy with that. These metal curtain hooks just can't survive forever in a shower climate, even with proper ventilation and moisture control efforts, they will still eventually start to rust and pit. That said, the design of these is better than all the past hooks I have used, the shape of the tips where the curtains attach is shaped in a way that really keeps the curtains from popping off, and the part that goes over the rod is also shaped in a way that deters it from coming off the rod. The roller balls are smaller and roll smoother and make less noise than others I have used, and overall, the construction of the hooks is visibly better quality than other hooks of similar style that I have used or considered buying. I would say I'm practically an authority on what is good and bad about curtain hooks of this type and style and this BigFoot set is the best set I have owned so far. When the day comes that I need to replace them, I'll come back and update this review, and you can be sure I'll remember to do that so if you don't see an update, you can assume I'm still using them since 11/2025. I purchased these hooks for an old fashioned tub that has a curtain surround. It takes 3 liners and two decorative curtains. These hooks are incredibly easy to use and slide with ease. I was surprised at how lightweight they are. On the one side of the tub that doesn’t have the decorative curtain, they do hang inwards a little since there is nothing on the other side of the hook. Time will tell if they don’t show any rust. They appear to be well made. Read more
