BIH Kojic Acid Soap - 4 Bars Turmeric Soap for Face Body Even Skin Tone Dark Spots Remover

This soap set seriously exceeded my expectations. So much so that I'm willing to overlook the silly misspelled words on the impressively short ingredient list (Retino sounds like a Vitamin A powered superhero lol). I'm not one to use bar soap on my face, and it's been years since I've used it in my body, but this stuff... woah. I've just been using it on my hands and forearms when I wash my hands (so like, 7-10 times a day) and was gobsmacked to see a couple of pinkish scars that I've had for months fade to a faint remnant of their formerly noticable selves. That process would typically take a few more months. My skin tone is much more even, softer (even before lotion), and any textural irregularities and annoying keratosis pilaris bumps are gone. One reason I avoided bar soaps was because no matter how many moisturizing ingredients it contained, the high pH would zap all the hydration out of my skin. The only exception was a bougie $14 goat milk bar soap from years ago- but the BIH Tumeric Bar smells better and does more at a fraction of the price. On the topic of smells... my goodness, it smells heavenly. It has a zesty citrus fragrance that doesn't smell artificial at all. Just clean and natural, with lemon and orange being the dominant notes. The two-pack included a netted sponge, and when used together produce SO MUCH LATHER. No sad, weak little suds here, just glorious mountains of rich lather that rinse perfectly clean without leaving a film. The ingredient list is loaded with a litany of skin-loving and tone-evening ingredients. At the top there's tumeric (gives the bar a distinctive orangey color), kojic acid, which is derived from sake lees, a byproduct of the sake making process that's effective for brightening and toning. Then there's Vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid, retinol and the absolute banger glutathione. For moisture, they've added glycerin, hyaluronic acid, collagen, shea butter, vit E and olive oil. There are no extraneous ingredients, everything serves a purpose, which I appreciate as so many beauty products contain lots of fillers. Overall, this is a fantastic bar soap that provides visible results over an impressively short period of time while still being gentle to the skin. At $5.99 for a twin pack (including the netted sponge), it's crazy affordable and performs like a product at a much higher price. I totally recommend it and am going to give it a full body test run after I post this review! Protip: after scrubbing up, leave it on your skin for a couple minutes before rinsing so the ingredients have ample time to do their thing! Read more

It's funny how trends go. As a kid, I was always teased for my genetically pre-disposed freckles! Now that I'm an adult, people are paying to get them tattooed on! I still don't care for them though, especially on my face, so I keep searching for peptides, retinols and everything in-between to even out my skin and chase away blotches. I had tried turmeric soap in the past, but it was a gloppy mess, it stung a bit and didn't smell great. I was a little anxious about trying another turmeric soap, but I'm so glad I took a gamble. I think this set is a great value. You get 2 full bars of soap and a mesh bag that you can use to exfoliate when you wash your face. The box is super cute too. The mesh bag really does help to scrub and exfoliate. The soap itself is wonderful. The scent is not at all overpowering. It just smells clean. I have super sensitive skin and there is zero irritation. As you can see from the pic, it lathers up very well and just feels so soft and luxurious on my skin. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks, so I have not seen much of a fading in my spots, but I'll keep using it either way because it just feels like pampering my face. What a terrific soap! I'm a sucker for citrus-scented soap because I despise floral scents. This soap lathers nicely and has a great scent. It also rinses clean without leaving any residue behind. I don't know about brightening the skin, but I use it on my hands. The only thing I don't like is the color. The picture shows a bright orange bar, but this is a dirty brown that doesn't match the picture. Other manufacturers make bright orange and yellow Kojic Acid / Turmeric soaps with very similar ingredients, so you aren't quite getting what you expect. Read more
