I have two standard poodles and have been looking for a shampoo that leaves their coats as soft as when they leave the groomer. This shampoo is very concentrated. I ended up putting it in a spray bottle and spraying it on the dogs once they were wet, working it in, and then rinsing well. It works a treat and the dogs smell great and are cuddly soft! This is a fantastic shampoo! My Cavalier was having trouble with dry skin and would scratch often. She needed a bath, but I knew that giving her a bath (with shampoo & conditioner) was making matters worse. :( Until... Bio-Groom Protein Lanolin Tearless shampoo!!! I am SO THANKFUL to have found out about this shampoo. I can wash my dog regularly now without ANY problem!!! It smells great, cleans great, doesn't irritate, and I don't even need to condition the hair after using this shampoo! I have used it carefully on her head and face and had no problems at all. I love this shampoo because I can use it without harming my dog's eyes. She shows no discomfort during her baths. Bio-Groom claims it can be diluted strongly, but I find using it full strength allows for more suds. I has a pleasant but not overwhelming smell. Read more
Over the course of the last 15 years, we've tried numerous shampoos you would typically find from the big box retailers. One day we noticed our vet sold Bio-Groom and we figured we would give it a try. Some shampoos tended to either never get sudsy enough, others would be so thick you would spend considerable time rinsing. This shampoo is well balanced - just the right amount of suds, but is easily rinsed out, resulting in a nice fluffy coat lasting several days for our chocolate labs. We've used this product for more than a dozen years. Never had an issue with skin or eye irritation, whether young or old. Our 15+ year old lab still loves to get a bath (more for the drying than anything else - extra drying time behind the ears). The best part, she comes out smelling great. My only minor gripe - it's becoming increasingly difficult to find locally. Thankfully, Amazon carries it. Read more
