This little thing!! It's by far my favorite purchase in my 20 years of living. I've recently collected tons of complete disk sets and this is perfect for enjoying my shows wherever. I use it practically every day. The battery lasts long enough to get through a couple hours before having to recharge, and it still works while on the charger; and it also came with not only a wall charger but also a typical car port charger. Super portable and easy to use. The remote buttons and buttons on the player are all labeled well, and the buttons on the player have enough function to not really even need the remote on a regular basis. The speakers and picture are surprisingly great for such a small machine. Absolutely in love with it, i filtered through tons of expensive options for a portable disk player, and this ones not only budget friendly but totally worth the money. I will say the headphones that come with it aren't the best quality, so I recommend getting different ones if you plan to use them, but other than that it's fantastic. Definitely recommend. Read more

This little player is great. I love how small it is, I can take it anywhere. The swivel screen is a really cool feature, the remote is a bonus, and the ear buds were a pleasant surprise to me. There are a couple of ways for charging, wall or computer. I haven't tried a CD yet; I'm mainly using it for lesson DVDs. The only tiny complaint I have is that the volume doesn't go up high enough for me. It could be that the DVDs are older, I need to try something newer. I have to have a quiet room to hear and since it's a couple of people watching at the same time, we haven't tried the earbuds yet. I am, however, very happy with my purchase. It does what I need and more. Great price. Read more

Listening without headphones, the sound quality is a bit tinny, but with phones, excellent. (I bought it as much for CDs as DVDs.) Good clear picture. Images not so small that you have to strain. Great for a long train or bus trip. Read more

I did not purchase this item for DVD viewing, so if that is your intended use, skip this review. I purchased this to use as a portable viewer for the thousands of digital photos I have stored on CDs. According to the product details, this DVD player can be used for that purpose, and it can . . . sort of. The first thing I noticed about this unit is that it is really clunky: I had a portable DVD player back when they first came out 15-20 years ago, that was less than an inch thick -- this unit is almost 3-inches thick, and it feels like a brick. Next I discovered that the unit comes with a remote control, and that more than half the functions are ONLY accessible through the remote. In my view, if I have to schlep both the player AND a remote around, it's not really "portable". That aside, there were major issues with the chief function I wanted this for -- viewing digital photos. * The device did recognize some of the photo CDs -- but not all of them. Maybe 3 out of 5 disks read the first time, with no problems. * While the screen showed the folders on the disk, there is no way to select ONE folder, and just view the photos in that folder. All photos on the disk are presented as a single long list. * There is no "scroll" feature for selecting photos. If you want to view the 40th photo in the list, you will have to push the "down" button 40 times to get to it. * There is, apparently, NO WAY to view a single photo, by itself. The device is always in "slideshow"; mode, where a photo is displayed for maybe a second and a half, and then the next photo appears. I could find no good way to turn this off. * Aspect ratio is clunky. Most older photos have a 4:3 aspect ratio. You can set the screen to display this ratio correctly, but it results in about a one-inch black bar on both sides of the screen. What's the point of having a "7-inch" screen if you only get to use 5-inches of it? * Photo manipulation functions are limited, clunky, and not intuitive. If you need, for example, to rotate an image 90-degrees to the left, you can only get there by rotating 90-degrees to the right, THREE times. There is no "rotate left" button or function. Zoom and image adjustment features are similarly clunky and limited. If I were buying this device 20 years ago, I'd think it was amazing. But by current technological standards, it's a dodo. Now, it \might\ be a great DVD player -- I did not test that feature; this is why I give it three stars, rather than one. But as a viewer for digital photos, it's a fail. I have digital frames that do this better. Read more
