Got this pen in both black(gunmetal) and red, both of them are consistent for me, so what applies to one applies to the other. The fit and finish of the construction isn't the greatest. Where the pen twists apart, there's a little step. The outter shell is plastic. The cap has a metal strip on the underside for support and to prevent breaking, possibly also for the spring tension. That's great that it won't break, but it also won't clip to stuff very tightly. In a jeans pocket it's great but clipped to some cardboard it will slide right off when it gets a chance. The click mechanism is actually pretty functional and satisfying, no problems there so far, which brings me to the star of the show with this pen: The Ink: I know there was at least one reviewer who got a scratchy pen but both of these for me are surprisingly smooth and glidy for a ballpoint. And to that note, and this is where I'm confused, the refill looks like gel, the lines appear to be gel (they have the characteristic bold color and sharp edges like gel pens have). But the way it lays down is very fine, too fine probably for a 0.7 gel. It also dries like a quick-dry gel pen. I'm assuming that they decided to go with a gel refill on these and just using ballpoint out of habit, but there are no markings anywhere on the refill. If you want to swap the ink for any reason (you have a favorite writer in the same length of refill) then this pen will accommodate most gel refills with some modification. The spring weight in the tip part of the body can be removed pretty easily, and if needed the soft plastic can be drilled out for the extra girth of a Pilot G2. Sharpie and Uniball refills worked fine with the included tension spring (the weight spring had to come out) and I was able to get a thinner gel in there by clipping it to length. The click mechanism is very accommodating, just make sure you don't lose the plastic plunger as it drops free when you open the pen. Overall, for 5 bucks this isn't a bad pen, and it seems to write well, at least for me. They put the weight spring in the right place to give it a nice balance, the click mechanism seems to work. It isn't going to win any beauty contests but she's a writer and still better than anything that will get stolen from the pen jar at the local bank. Read more
This pen has been excellent. It writes smoothly with good ink flow and a consistent medium 0.7mm line. No skipping, smudging, or bleeding in my normal use. The weight feels balanced and comfortable, making it enjoyable for longer writing sessions. The gift box looks polished enough to give as a present, but at this price point it’s also a great option to pick up for yourself. After several days of use, it continues to perform flawlessly. This pen arrived in a protective box and has a protective cover on its roller ball. It is very light and writes extremely smoothly. It has a metal clip liner so that it has a nice spring grip. The cartridge has a good amount of ink. I wish I could give this 4 1/2 stars. My only reason for knocking a half a star is because I like a little more weight in my pens for how they feel as I use them. Read more

Admittedly I am a fan of gel pens but I use a lot of ball point pens too. From a visual stand point, this is a beautiful looking pen. The gun metal gray is very nice and I love the thick pen clip. It feels nice in my hand for its size, it’s light but looks like a heavy duty pen. The way it writes is where it loses a star for me. At 0.7mm I thought it as going to be a little thicker and much smoother. It feels pretty scratchy on the paper so it’s not great but it’s good. I think it hits the right price point for a good looking pen that writes just ok. Read more
This is a goodlooking, nice quality pen that writes well. It's comfortable to grip and has a long enough length to balance well in my hand. The pen looks sleek and stylish, very modern. The casing of the pen ses really durable. The box it came it makes the pen look nice for gifting. One negative is that there is no info on how to get refills for the pen, soo that will require some researching. Read more
I got this gun metal and the red and the pair of pens. The price of nice. But it is the same for all three purchases. The pens look nice quality , nicer than the price implies. Includes the gift box of course. One of mine doesn't write very good. So your mileage may vary. Read more
Lighter weight than I thought it would be. It has a fine point and writes smoothly. It’s kind of like a gel pen, but it’s fine point and does not smudge. I get writers cramp, but this smooth gliding pen helps with that! Read more
