These are nice. I don't weld, I actually bought this for grilling purposes. These gloves have padding throughout, with more protection on the trigger finger and thumb welding. They also look awesome (they're freaking gauntlets, we almost had a sword fight). The finger length and width are just what I needed, I like the wrist protector. I don't feel like I overheat in the gloves at all. You can definitely stick your hand in the coals and move them around (quickly, don't go playing catch or holding them to show off) without burning your hand or the gloves. Heat will and does transfer through these and can move pretty quickly. It also STAYS in the glove for a bit, so when you feel it come through, back off and take the glove off for a minute to cool down. I should point out I have a Weber Go Anywhere Tabletop Grill (charcoal, obviously) and a Weber Chimney Starter. I use the gloves to protect myself when dumping coals from the chimney to the grill, and to place the cooking grate over the coals. The vents for the coal get ferociously hot, if you need to close them, you need gloves like these. However, they get so hot, that even these padded, protective gloves can transfer the heat in 10 seconds or less (and that's when I usually wind up stripping them off and cursing). I knew these gloves would not be heat proof, and that's fine. They work very well for what I bought them for. I have small hands and need to handle very hot things for sometimes extended periods of time with more precision than a mitten and more protection than a pot holder. I can safely carry the hot grill for about five or seven minutes without needing a break to cool off (it has handles and a lid), I can wear these while tending the coals, while working on the food and damn if I don't feel more awesome when I wear them. I've used them to safely rearrange hot oven racks (I forget to rearrange for broiling a lot). I'm sure in a pinch, I could use them as protection working with power tools or moving heavy or sharp objects as well. Read more
Well made gloves! They sre super thick and fit my hands perfectly! As a female welder, it's hard to find gloves that fit. It's extremely hard for me particularly to find gloves due to how small my hands are. I wear a size 4 ring for reference. The require a little bit of breaking in, but I will definitely be ordering these again! Read more

I was happy to find these as they come in small sizes. And I liked the look. Sadly, just using them to take a hot tray out of the oven, my fingers immediately felt the intense heat. I had to pull them off and treat the burn immediately. They provided less protection than a potholder or oven mitts. Still, I tried them at the fire pit. I had hoped to use them to move logs, and other things, carefully, around and in the fire. Nope. Useless. Couldn't even get near the fire in these. There's just not enough protection/insulation from the heat. They wound up unused. I knew there'd be some tradeoff for fit and flexibility, but they aren't even that flexible. I don't have any more dexterity in these than in heavier, larger ones that actually protect my hands from the fire. I wound up having to use the larger, older ones a friend had, which worked fine. Unfortunately, I don't know what company they're from (they're that old). I wish I'd tried these before the return window closed. Not sure what I'll do with them. What a waste of money. Read more

i have very small hands so i thought a small would be perfect. They fit snug but when working with them it began to cut circulation off to my fingers. These are very well made amazing gloves, i would just suggest a size up from what you think you may fit. Read more
I bought these gloves for a welding class I took recently and they worked really well. My hands are pretty small (I wear size small medical gloves) but my fingers are fairly long. The gloves were the perfect size around my hand (the circumference), but the fingers were a bit too short for me. It ended up being fine for my class, but I do wish the fingers were a little bit longer to increase the comfort. The gloves are fairly thick, which was great for welding class and handling hot metal. A little tricky to do some finer movements because of the thickness and difficulty making a fist... but I'd rather have the heat protection and deal with some stiffness of the gloves. I also found that they held on to the heat - so if I accidentally got them too hot (say, grabbing a piece of hot metal and holding it too long), then I had to take the gloves off for 20 seconds or so to let them cool down, otherwise they got my fingers pretty hot! Not the fault of the glove - Just something I hadn't thought of before. I found that when I scraped the metal shavings from the table with my gloved hand, it roughed the gloves up quite a bit. Again, not sure that it's the fault of the glove per se, but I stopped doing that when I saw some stitching start to fray and used a brush instead. Read more
