I've always wanted a blackvue dash cam for it's low profile. It's a little bulky but it's still completely hidden behind my rear view mirror. This didn't effect the quailty and affordable especially when there's a sale. No complaints. I would buy the higher end one if you're looking for a slimmer camera. Read more

First of all, installation of most anything is outside of my comfort zone. I had my personal builder, (hubby,) put this in for me. He says it was simple enough to get the camera working and the software installed, but he did need to call in a buddy to get the wires done neatly. Once all that was completed, it is small enough to be unobtrusive, and the design is sleek. I did test it a couple of times, and the images it produced were sharp and clear. Hopefully I will never have to test it out properly, (knock on wood,) but I do like having it there just in case. Read more

The video quality of a dash cam, which records clear images at 60 frames per second, is its most crucial feature. Cars in adjacent lanes can be seen thanks to the wide angles of both cameras. Since the video was captured in MP4 format, you can play the files on any program. The bundled SD card provides a wifi connection for your phone, enabling the transfer of the video files. Every video file can be seen in preview mode and carries a time and date stamp. Because the camera has GPS, the location and speed of the car are captured in the lower left corner of the video stream. The front and back cameras are easy to install. Before the quite heavy camera was mounted, it did take a little while for the adhesive pad on the main camera base clip to set. It was simple to run the wires along the window frame. I was happy with how effectively the provided pry tool performed, despite the fact that it took some effort to press the wires into the door and pillar trim. Ultimately, the cables are only visible at the power connection and where they feed out to the cameras. When placed across from the rearview mirror, the main camera does not obstruct the driver's field of vision, despite being somewhat large and noticeable once fitted. The controls on the camera are excellent. It contains control buttons and a touch screen. Many photographs have shortcuts that can be accessed by swiping the screen. Mounted this in my Elantra and it basically disappears behind the mirror-no blocked view. Getting it setup was fairly easy-stick the mount, run the cable, pair the app. Video looks amazing in 2K; HDR keeps headlights and sun glare under control, and night clips still show plates better than any cam I've used. I added the hardwire kit for parking mode and it grabs motion/impacts with the pre-event buffer, which is exactly what I wanted for street parking. Pulling clips over wifi is easy, so I rarely pop the card. Stays stable in heat and hasn’t fallen off once. Small footprint, clear footage, definite recommend from me. Read more

As someone who's been a loyal BlackVue user for a few years, I've always trusted their cameras, and this one certainly didn't let me down. In my opinion, it performs just as well as their more expensive models for a fraction of the cost. Beyond that, the physical design is a huge win—its small, cylindrical shape makes it so discreet you barely even notice it's there. The camera feels incredibly solid and well-made, a true sign of its quality build. When it comes to the actual footage, this thing is a powerhouse. The front camera is exceptional, and with the wide-angle lenses on both the front and rear, you get fantastic coverage of the road, the cabin, and even the surrounding areas. Even in low-light or at night, the STARVIS 2 and HDR technologies ensure the videos are crystal clear, and the PlatePix system is a huge help for capturing readable license plates. Plus, the rear camera is waterproof, so you can count on it to keep an eye on things in any weather. What I truly appreciate is how easy it is to use. The small LED display is surprisingly useful for viewing all three video feeds and adjusting settings. The menu is a breeze to navigate and configure. The included power line is long and robust, which is perfect for a bigger vehicle like a truck. I also love the smart parking settings and infrared night vision, which automatically activate a few minutes after you park. The app is a breeze for both setup and watching footage, whether you connect via Wi-Fi or just pull the memory card. All in all, this is a fantastic piece of equipment. It gives you a premium feel and performance without the top-tier price tag. If you're in the market for a reliable, feature-rich dashcam, I'm confident you'll be very happy with this one. Read more
