I didn’t buy this for fun — I bought it because I needed solid proof with everything going on around me, and this camera has been exactly that. The video quality is crystal clear, even at night. You can make out faces, movements, and everything happening around the vehicle without guessing. The biggest thing for me is reliability. It records consistently, no missed clips, no lag, nothing sketchy. The parking mode is a must-have — if someone comes near your car or tries anything, it’s getting recorded. No more “he said, she said” situations. Setup was easy, and once it’s in, you don’t have to touch it. The app lets you pull footage fast, which is huge when you actually need to show what happened. Blackvue has provided high end dashcams for years and is known for quality products and integrating new technologies into their products. Thus SAFY9 has most of the features of their high end and offers 4K UHD front and Full HD 1080P rear recording with STARVIS (IMX415) sensor and HDR for enhanced clarity day or night….and it delivers. Often, due to market pressures, companies introduce a value line to better compete with lower priced competitors. This helps takes the pressure to reduce prices off their premium products. This appears to be the case here. High quality of the Blackvue name with most of the key features found on their premium product, but at a more competitive price. This took about 30 minutes to install since it was replacing an older dashcam. Routing the wire to the rear camera took most of this time, but was able to use the same routing under the flexible trim around the exterior edge of the headliner. You have a number of options to choose in the initial setup, such as the length of recording snipits, resolution, and what to show on the recordings (speed, gps, etc). Front 4K recordings are much better than my old 1080P dashcam and can read license plates in most recordings. Night vision is very good. Everything you need to install this is included, even the SD card. I like that this SAFY9 uses a capacitor instead of a battery, since it has been my experience batteries tend to swell over time when subjected to heat soak in your vehicle’s interior. If you’re tired of blurry, unusable dash cam footage, this BlackVue is worth every penny. The 4K front and 1080P rear recording is incredibly sharp, but the HDR is the real hero here. It balances the light perfectly when you’re driving in and out of tunnels or directly into the sun, so the video never washes out. Even on pitch-black roads, the AI and STARVIS 2 sensor pick up license plates and road markings with impressive clarity. The setup was quick and straightforward, easy install, and I love that it includes a 64GB card right in the box so you don't have to go hunting for one. The WiFi connectivity is a massive plus, making it easy to pull clips directly to my phone without fumbling with cables. The touchscreen is responsive, and the ADAS driving alerts are actually helpful rather than just being extra noise. It feels like a high-end piece of tech that was actually built for the modern driver. I cannot recommend this or any other BlackVue cam more. They are the best. Read more
