One of the first non Batman and Superman comic book made to movie characters. The trilogy was ok. First and third were more interesting with the third bringing in Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) humor to the Blade franchise. Wesley Snipes (Murder at 1600) shows off his martial arts prowess as well as his acting in these three movies. Great action movie with three to watch. Read more
This movie was sold out, but I put it on my wishlist because I was not going to pay $100 for these movies like some vendors are selling right now. It became available through Amazon as the vendor Direct and I bought it for $15. This is not a collectible it’s just three disc in a case, if you can’t find this, just buy the movies separately, probably just, about the same cost . The first movie is great, but they progressively lack in quality as they progress. The second one was ok. The third one was mediocre. Read more
NOTE: Audio/Video Review ONLY Bluray vs 4k at Reference Level. Being more familiar with streaming 4k Dolby Vision/Atmos and 4k discs on my 7.2.4 system I am relatively new to Bluray discs and very impressed by them. First, Blurays are definitely better than the same trilogy while streaming 4k UHD! This Trilogy series on true 1080p Bluray is not only a big step up from “lossy and compressed” streaming 4k in video quality, which is easily observed on any TV (basically) but the 6.1 DTS-HD Master audio is amazing! My Denon AVR and speaker setup isn’t designed for 6.1 though so to my surprise my AVR actually plays this trilogy in 7.1 DTS-HD Master, as pictured, by making the sixth audio signal come out of both of my rear surround sound speakers simultaneously making it sound very immersive. The “Dolby Digital Plus” Dolby Atmos you receive while streaming is a joke and I would take 5.1-7.1 DTS-HD Master audio from a Bluray disc or 4k disc any day! However, the “TrueHD” Dolby Atmos or DTS:X you get on a Bluray or 4k disc “can” be really good, like in blade runner 2049, Jurasic Park (OG), Dune 1 and 2 (third installment is currently in production at this time), Deapool and Wolverine, and Tron Legacy. Long story short this trilogy has such good audio and video quality I have realized there is a significant difference between Blurays and streaming 4k Dolby Vision but I don’t see a huge leap in video quality when comparing a Bluray catalog movie to a catalog 4k disc. Newer movies that are made for 4k discs can be slightly better than a Bluray but not as much as you would think. The main difference between a Bluray Disc and a 4k disc “can” be the audio quality. Bluray has a less immersive experience than a 4k disc with TrueHD Dolby Atmos, in general with exceptions of course. The one thing I learned from this trilogy though is that I like to listen to movies at Reference Level (0.0dB) or slightly above depending on the movie, however, 4k discs with an immersive audio format that can support a 7.2.4 system have a quieter dialogue experience and a more dynamic range. In comparison this trilogy, like all older Bluray discs play the whole movie entirely at the peak volume! Blurays are consistently louder than 4k discs which focuses more on a cinematic experience than a home theater experience. That being said I only give five stars to movies that flex my system, the rest get 3-4 stars. This entire trilogy is a complete flex on your system and takes the liberty of being very…very loud!
