I am 5'3" and between 150-155lbs, and generally have to order a smaller size in blazers because it's so rare that one doesn't make me look like a kid trying on her parents' clothing. The sleeves are almost always way too long, and the blazer length too long as well. So receiving this - which I ordered in a medium - I was pleasantly surprised that the length of the sleeves and jacket were both appropriate! That being said, since I am short and have short arms, if the length is just right on me then it is likely too short on average people. This was also a bit tighter fit than I expected. When I raise my arms up I can feel the back tighten and I don't really have much range of motion. All of that I could've forgiven if it had a nice shape, but there is something about the way it hangs that is just unflattering. I do not think the waist cinches in like it appears to in the photos. I do like the gold thread pattern, but the jacket itself just seems shapeless and a bit boxy. I like it better open than buttoned, however. Buttoned I look very dowdy, so that's never going to happen! Detail-wise, I didn't care for the cheap look of the buttons, and one of the bottom ones points downward like it's falling off, and it makes everything look uneven. Also you should know there are no actual pockets on this blazer, just two flaps that look like pockets for show. I am not a fan of fake pockets! This is a beautiful, well made tweed blazer. I love the classic but modern design. It is a well structured jacket and the inside has a smooth, soft satin liner. The buttons are a nice gold color and have a filigree type design and a one button closure design. This would be a great staple piece to have in your closet for business or dressier attire. It does say you can machine wash with like colors but to be honest, because it is so well structured, I would probably take this piece to the dry cleaners for laundering. I feel like the sizing chart may be a tad off. For size reference, I am 5’9”, 145lbs, 36D and normally wear a large. But following their size chart, I ordered a medium since it said the chest would be 43”. The jacket fits snug overall & the chest is too tight on me, especially when lifting my arms.. A large would have fit me perfectly. So my recommendation would be to order your normal size. Overall, I still really like this blazer and feel like it is a high quality garment. I wear a size Large in most tops, occasionally even Medium. The size chart says I wear a Large by measurements. And yet, this blazer is far too small. It doesn’t come close to buttoning and the sleeves are too short, as well. It’s a pity because I really like it. The style is a bit retro (I had something similar in the 90s although back then it had big shoulder pads, lol), but doesn’t look dated. The gold thread running through the fabric is a nice detail and really dresses the jacket up, without looking harsh or gaudy. It’s nicely made with a lining. It would be a nice multi use wardrobe staple, but the fit is just off. Read more
Depending on the brand I typically wear a XL and sometimes L. When buying clothes on Amazon I usually get XL or XXL. Since this is a blazer and I would be wearing a shirt underneath, I ordered XXL. The blazer was so small that i thought maybe the wrong size was sent, but the tag said it was XXL. I had my daughter try it on. She wears a small and sometimes a Medium if she wants a looser fit. The blazer fit her loosely, but not over-sized. The blazer is excellent quality and is nicely made. The fabric has no give. Had it been correctly sized, I would have been very happy with this blazer.
