Great packaging. Very stylish. Easy to set up and get going. Lots of settings to customize to my liking. Have not tried with out of region DVDs yet but assume they will all work (or I'll be back to complain and lower rating, of course). Looks great and everything functions perfectly. Came with needed cords but I already had my own. Still, nice everything is included. Plugged in the HDMI cable and power cord and I was up and going. No complaints and the upscaling does a great job. We have only been using this DVD player for about 2 months, but so far it performs flawlessly! There is no background "spinning" or grinding noise like the last one had. Also, I love the fact that I can stop in the middle of a DVD and turn it off for a day or two. When we return to finish the movie, it picks up exactly where we left off. It is easy to program and the remote control is easy to operate. With our last player, you had to literally be standing two feet away for the remote to work! But I can operate this remove from the doorway several feet away and it instantly responds. I am VERY pleased with this purchase!!! Read more

Actually very good for the price! The only problem is the DVD tray is hard to remove the disc you have to put your index finger in the center to remove it. The picture and sound was excellent and very quiet running easy to use. Read more

VERY happy with this unit so far. Looks good. Works great. Extra input for memory stick. And the key point for me - it may be a Blu Ray player, but it is a REGION FREE DVD player. I have a number of 'only available in Britian releases, and I have had a number of 'region Free' players. This one has EVERYTHING in one package, so no need to switch between players. Plus, my previous Region Free units did NOT have HDMI. This one does. I have tested it with Blu Ray programs, regualar DVDs, and Region 1 DVDs. They all look GREAT. And - the Region 1 DVDs look better than they have on any of the previous units. I felt the price was excellent, even with the additional purchase of a 2 year warranty just in case. Hookup was easy. I played part of one DVD to ensure it was working out of the box. Turned it off. Attempted to turn it on again. Nothing. Replaced the batteries in the remote with known good ones. Still nothing. Attempted to turn on using the front panel button. Yet again, nothing. Of course neither the remote nor the front panel will eject the disk. So not only do I not have a functioning DVD player, I'm out a rather expensive DVD. But I did get to watch about 15 minutes of the DVD, so there's that. TL;DR: this unit is apparently crap. Avoid. This DVD player is a great upgrade from my previous one. The picture quality is excellent, and everything looks crisp and clear. It was very easy to set up and simple to use right out of the box. I really appreciate that it handles all formats without any issues. It works perfectly with my projector and has been ideal for movie nights.
