I bought this over a year ago and it worked ok for a while. Not great, but ok. Then it worked intermittently. There was static that kept getting worse and I thought that I had finally done what my husband had warned me about...blown out the car's speakers because I keep the volume too high. Nope. When I unplugged it, the radio came through loud and clear. I had to crank up the volume as high as it would go just to get sound from this stupid thing. When I unplugged it, I was nearly blown through the seat from the volume from the radio. I am not a tech person, so I thought that I was perhaps doing something wrong. I had a few younger folks who are up on all off this tech look at it and each one proclaimed it absolute garbage. The worst part was that when it eventually completely died, it appeared to try and take my mobile phone with it. It can't be a coincidence that the damn thing freaked out and my mobile crashed at the same time. I was finally able to bring the phone back, but I put this thing where it belonged. In the dumpster. I've since purchased something that works beautifully and cost just about the same as this one. I don't think it was defective, as it did work alright for a while. After only a month of use, I tried to turn it and it fell apart. It connects fine, the sound is good, but the quality is terrible. It's a shame because it's small, but it does the job. Where do I even begin?! This little device completely changed my drives. I’ve missed blasting my own playlists ever since my aux port gave out, and the radio just wasn’t cutting it. At first, when I hooked it up, all I got was static—but then I actually read the instructions (imagine that!) and realized you have to tune it to an unused station with the remote.
