Love, love, love these boots! I was nervous about buying them fearing there would be a long break in period. I worn them around the house to determine how comfortable they would be. My instep isn’t high, but “high enough” that I had to stand to shove my foot in the boot initially. Less than a week later, I walked 38 miles during a long weekend in NYC with no discomfort, rubbing, or blisters. I wore “tall” socks (above my ankles). I usually wear an 8.5 but purchased a size 9. My cousin and I both purchased a pair of 500s at a department store in our normal shoe sizes (I’m a 7 or 38, she an 8), went back to her home, put on pajamas, socks, and our cute new Blunnies and then proceded to sip wine and enjoy ourselves. Except our feet were quite uncomfortable. “I must take these back” I said; “Same here” she said. And back they went the next day. So I did a bit more research on the 550s and with a bit of trepidation put them in my cart and made the purchase in size 7.5 instead of 7s; we’ve been together for 10 days now and they’re starting to shape around my wide feet. I haven’t done my typical 5K distance walk yet but will update this review once I do. - Update Dec 31, 2023 - My 550s and I have now been together for about six weeks and have had at least one month of frequent 5-10K walks in very cold weather, over small stretches of cobble stones, uneven stairs, and even some light rain. With either moribund fleece inserts I already had or socks with wool content my feet have rarely been cold when the temps hovered below 42F/6C. I've officially joined the cult of Blundstones. — Update March 22, 2024 — My 550s had a pause in January and February while traveling to a warmer climate, which in reality saw more rain than expected and the 550s would have been useful. So far in March they’ve recently been subjected to a little more rain, a few more uneven surfaces and cobblestones, and the wet, slippery stones of Diocletian’s Palace. All the reviews for everything on sizing is so conflicting. I went with my actual size - women's 8. I got a massive shoe that was 2 sizes larger. If anyone can tell me how to know what the sizing is on these. That would be great Read more
