Beautiful and comfortable but very very tight opening: I tried them on the minute they came, like an idiot, barefoot, because it is summer right now, and the humidity almost made me have to cut the boot off. I needed powder and help to get my foot free, but they are awesome with thin socks! I have very high arches so it took me an hour to get the inserts through the opening, but with them on top of the original footbed, the shoes are still roomy enough for thin socks. I always order up a half size to accommodate this orthotic, so I would say to order your "normal" size; it worked out perfectly for me. My horse gets new shoes every 7 weeks. I get new boots every 8 years! I was so overdue that it's likely I'd have been happy with anything that didn't have a hole in the leather and fraying thread at the elastic...but I really do love how these are a little dressed up with that decorative punch in the leather along the elastic. It's subtle. I love the color, "Shiraz." They fit just right--the elastic is new, holds the boots in place so well it makes the boots difficult to remove! Use a boot jack and they easily slip off. That's the worst thing I can say about them---certainly not worthy of subtracting a star from my rating. I would recommend these to a friend. Read more
I LOVE these boots - they are durable, truly waterproof, I feel safe on slippery terrain, can wear as every day shoe. The one BIG downside is they are very difficult to get on and off. The leather is tight so getting your foot through the tight ankle part requires serious effort - taking them off is even harder. It does get easier over time as the shoes stretch out but big design flaw for me. Read more
Beautiful boots. First rate quality. I normally wear 8.5. I got these in 9.5 and tried 10 too. I could not get my foot past the shaft. I have high insteps and low arches, so this style pull on boot is iffy for fit. Have had other styles of this brand that I could get on and they are worth the break in period. Sad this style did not work. The color and detail around the elastic is very attractive. Read more
I thought the reviews about the small, non-stretchy opening wouldn't apply to me, because I have narrow feet and small ankles. I struggled for over 10 minutes just to get the boots on. It was painful. It would be impossible to wear anything but the thinnest of socks with these. Once I did get them on, I had to struggle to get out of them. Who has time to struggle to put their shoes and off? I returned them. Read more
