The tag says that this robe is made ethically in India, and I hope that’s true. I also hope that it’s true that it’s made of organic cotton; it certainly feels soft enough to be organic cotton. The piping around the cuffs and front edges is a nice touch, too, and it keeps the fibers in those high-wear locations from fraying prematurely. When I first looked at it, I thought the sleeves were 3/4, but they are full-length. They actually go past my first knuckles, which is awesome. It makes it cuddlier. I love that there are two big pockets for small books, tissues, a tube of cookie dough, the essentials, you know? I wouldn’t call this robe “light-weight”—I’d reserve that for something sheer or satiny. I also wouldn’t call it heavy—I’ve got a heavy robe that’s a thick terry. This is more of a medium weight. It’s heavier than it’d be if it weren’t waffle-woven; it’s lighter than it’d be if it the actual woven layers weren’t as thin as they are. I also think that all the little pockets formed by the waffle weave traps heat, so it’s as warm as a heavy robe, but not as heavy. I didn’t notice much shrinkage from the wash, but I’m also petite—I’m more inclined to notice when items are too big rather than too small. I wish these robes were offered in more colors, like lilac, but it’s easy enough to dye white cotton. I think that $120 is an appropriate price to pay for something of this quality. If it were made in the USA, it’d probably cost 2.5 times as much. Read more

Boll & Branch always offers excellent quality, attention to detail, and durability. This robe is lovely: it’s understated, but clearly is a higher-end garment. It’s comfortable and very roomy for its size, and it washes up perfectly, needing simply to be dried and re-hung in the closet. I do think it is slightly overpriced for what it is, hence my four star rating, but, perhaps, this is just what stuff costs these days, and I’m just too old-fashioned! Read more

I have a few other Boll & Branch products and I absolutely love the brand, so I had high hopes for this 100% organic cotton waffle robe. It's great. The quality is outstanding; it’s actually much thicker and more substantial than I was expecting, while still feeling incredibly soft and breathable. It’s a shorter, belted style, which is perfect if you prefer a robe that doesn't feel too heavy or restrictive.The only thing that was a bit of a letdown is that there is only one pocket on my robe, which is quite the mystery, and it’s located on the left side. It’s definitely a little disappointing if you’re used to having two, but because the fabric is so "love love love" worthy, it’s certainly not a deal-breaker for me. In fact, it looks like a one-off factory error because everyone else seems to mention having two, so sounds like it's a random issue. Again, not a deal breaker since it appears to be a rare occurrence so if you want a high-end, eco-friendly robe that feels like a spa day at home, this is still an excellent choice. I am so pleased with this organic cotton robe, it's very well made and seems like it will last a very long time. I immediately washed it in cold water with a low tumble dry, and it already softened up and came out looking beautiful. It has a great fit and it's lightweight but still provides some warmth, and it's very comfortable. I also love that it has pockets that are well placed. And it looks clean and beautiful. Read more

This robe is beautifully made and feels truly luxurious. The fabric is 100% organic cotton, ethically crafted in India, with a waffle weave that gives it a thick, textured feel while remaining lightweight and breathable. As a petite woman (5 ft tall), I ordered my usual size Small, and the fit is excellent in terms of length and sleeve coverage — not too long, and the sleeves are just right. If I’m being honest, it is a bit roomy around the body, but that does make it easy to wrap around to keep the robe closed. And makes it extra comfortable for lounging. The large, roomy pockets are another feature I really appreciate, adding both practicality and convenience. I washed it in the machine and dried it on high, and it came out looking just as good as new. The bright white color is fresh and clean, while the subtle grey trim adds a touch of elegance. My husband, the ex-textile plant manager, says that waffle weaves are expensive to produce. I think they’re just cooshy. This feels lightweight, but it’s luxuriously warm when on, and I love the pockets, which are big enough and angled the right way to let me drop my phone in them— and it stays. Making breakfast never happens without this robe anymore, and I feel way fancier than I used to in my hooded zip up sweatshirt in the morning. This is affordable luxury, and worth every penny. When they say lightweight, they really mean it. This is as light as you can get. On the pro side, it is so light that I thought it would be see through, but the weave is nice and is opaque. The cut is fine. It’s a bit roomy for a size small, but it’s not so big that you’d need to size down. I have a lot of Boll & Branch products, this one is not my favorite. I’d throw this robe on as a coverup, but not as a luxurious lounging around the house morning robe. And while I’m a huge fan of organic materials, I don’t think the cost is justified for this. I’m willing to give it four stars because it’s well made, is pretty to look ant, has nice fabric, and will probably last forever. This one is just not my snuggle down into style. Read more
