I’ve brewed it in both a drip machine and a French press, and it performs well in both. The French press brings out more of the vanilla creaminess, while the drip gives a cleaner, lighter cup. I received the package of coffee and just stared at it. Would the image of the "Bones" promise me a realistic sense of taste and smell of vanilla, warming my soul or would it defy my Bones?. Have I got news for you! This is the best tasting French Vanilla coffee I ever tasted!. I ordered the ground type. The flavor of vanilla is present and pleasing. The coffee itself is smooth but strong I use a little more as I brew. And I smiled after my first cup of coffee. As I said, this flavor is like a warm hug on a cold winter's morning. I drink my coffee black and my taste buds were singing. Of course this is my opinion, but honestly, this is the smoothest most delicious cup of French vanilla I ever had. If you love vanilla, you will like this. Starbucks vanilla is ok, but can be bitter, Duncan Donuts taste artificial. But, Bones Coffee is perfect...for me. Vanilla lovers, you will be pleased. This is the only coffee I actually like. In the past I would only drink coffee in an emergency caffeine situation as I’ve always hated the bitterness (regardless of sugar/creamer usage). I bought a gift box for a friend that had 3 flavors and tried some of his and immediately noticed the lack of bitterness and decided to buy a bag of my favorite flavor. I now drink coffee a few times a month as I actually enjoy the taste of this product and don’t have to flood it with creamer. I still can’t bear the coffee at work, Dunkin, or Starbucks though.
