Bose QuietComfort 20 ear buds noise cancellation is as good as QuietComfort 25 over the ears headset. I highly recommend it for noisy environments when you try to get rest or need to focus. It is a must for long flights, noisy subway rides, phone calls in a noisy public spaces. Cuts out noisy A/C and noisy neighbors. You don't get a complete silence but the remaining sound is no longer disturbing. When there is very little noise around, you can hear a slight white noise from the headset. It's not annoying. Don't use it for phone calls in quiet settings because you will lose sense of people around you and talk too loud. In my opinion, batteries keep charge sufficiently long and recharge fast. Can be recharged while using them. Love the button that can disable noise cancellation and feed outside sounds so you can have quick chat with someone without taking off the earbuds. It should be used when riding a bike or driving. Can be worn for a long time because ears don't overheat like they do with over the ear headsets. It is even possible to sleep with them because there is no bulky hardware on your head. Can rest the head on a side when sitting in an airline seat. Can sleep with head resting on a side of a pillow as long as the bottom edge of the pillow aligns with the ear or above it. I don't like the fact the LED lights can be seen only from one side of the control module. Light should wrap around. The earbuds should shut off when not in the ear to conserve battery. Yes, it is pricey. Don't have any opinion on quality of sound when listening to music, except that any music without noise sounds much better than from a good headset but without noise cancellation. I would give it 5 starts except for two issues: 1) The wire from the unit used to plug into my phone is about 2 inches long from the base of the plug to the base of the wire where it's connects to the unit. This isn't long enough to handle the unit and my phone easily. 2) The carrying case is barely big enough to squeeze everything in the. I have to leave my extra ear buds because there isn't enough room for it even after I fold up the wires nicely and place the ear bugs so it doesn't snag on anything (instructions said it can easily tear). It takes up more time than it should to store the unit. Other than these issues, the product is great! I don't even have to turn on the noise cancellation switch to block out 75% of the noise around me. When it's turned on, it's like I'm in a insulated room and I can only hear the music. Even my own voice is muffled when I sing along, with the noise cancellation turned on. Read more

I had really high expectations for this headset; especially considering the very high price. I am disappointed with them. I do a lot of flying, and I had hoped for the noise cancellation to be as good as many reviews said it would be. It isn't. It does reduce the jet engine roar somewhat, but it seems to be less than half. The sound quality isn't that great either. Perhaps it's the earbuds. I wish I had gotten the headset instead. Just a lot of money for not very much. Read more

Between the noise canceling, the crisp sounds and my sleep sounds application I can finally get to sleep. I had to find something that could stay in my ears, block the incredible snore of my husband and feel comfy. I got that and excellent sound in these headphones. Are they worth the price? For me, Yes, they are as long as they last. Wish me luck. I love them so! Read more

These earbuds do not fit my ears. I have tried the smallest size provided and they are still too large. I am not a small guy at 6 feet 190 lbs. so was shocked the smallest size is way too large. They will not stay in my ears no matter how I position them with the ear. Also, there is no way to evaluate the sound cancellation of these because they don't fit properly. Beware! Read more

Earphones blocked out most of plane noise and crying kids on 6 hour flight. Was able to watch movie and listen to music comfortably. It was worth every penny from the expression on other passengers who had to endure the crying in stereo. Read more

Fantastic headphones. The noise canceling is not perfect, you can definitely hear background noise if you're not listening to music. But they cut enough to not bother you too bad. I use them a lot for studying and they are very useful, definitely worth the money. Read more
