Already having a Bose radio in my bedroom, I decided that I also wanted one for the living room, and I am so glad I ordered it! If you are not familiar with the Bose sound, you owe yourself a treat. The audio in these Bose radios is all encompassing--the bass is deep and rich, while the tenor sounds are clear and distinct. I just love them!! This particular model does NOT have a CD player in it, however, which is fine, because I plan on purchasing the multi-CD player. The AM is as wonderful as the FM. Turn up the sound on your favorite stations and you are taken away. As far as operating the Bose is concerned, all tasks are very easy and well-explained in the Users Guide which comes with the product. I would also like to add that this model can display the name of the song being played, in addition to the station ID, but I turned that function off because I did not need it. I just purchased this system and at first I put it on my counter space in the kitchen in a corner space and it had way too much bass sound but when I moved it out away from the corner it sounded GREAT!! So dont back it up into a corner and it will be perfect for ya,if your hearing too much bass sound,try putting it in several different places and you will find the sound and bass will be much better in different places. My husband just opened it and is thrilled. The sound appears to be worthy of all the hype, truly unique and unlike any "radio" that I've ever listened to. I was going to purchase the whole system with the multi-disc player, but I'd read what seemed to be a lot of customer complaints, so I decided to take it one step at a time. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the remote is tiny and without it, you don't have a radio...seems like form over function. The package arrived safe and intact. We were out of town when it arrived and asked our neighbor to put it in their house until we got home, which they did. I was really happy to see that it was double boxed with a plain brown carton rather than the BOSE name all over it. Anything "Bose" might have looked too tempting just sitting in a driveway alone... I purchased this Bose Radio 3 under the impression it had a cd player, as it referred to in your ad on amazon...IT DIDN'T have a cd player!! The last three "CD" players I bought from amazon didn't work at all. and they were right out of the box brand new!! I'm beyond pissed off about this, and if this thing isn't taken back, along with a full refund and the 40 bucks extra I paid for expidited shipping, I will leave horrifying reviews about your company and Amazon on social media, Someone very close to me is a content creator, and is just dying to rag on you and amazon regarding this piece of junk! I hooked up a turntable to this unit to play vinyl records, and it is working out very well. The bass response is good, and with just the turntable,(has to have a built-in preamp),I have been able to create a small stereo system with good sound that does not occupy alot of real estate. The graphite gray matches the turntable almost exactly. You MUST set the switch at the back of the turntable to LINE, and add a barrel connector to the turntable wires, then plug into the auxiliary input of the Bose. It turned out very nice and is far less expensive than putting together a full system from scratch. I am very pleased. Read more

Normally I would give this radio 4 stars for sound, reliability and reception, which are no better or worse than models made 15 years ago. However, I am downgrading it -2 stars because of two "features" that are proving annoying in 6 months of use: 1) The only operation that can be done on the radio itself is power off / on. No changing the station, or even adjusting the volume, any other way except by use of the remote. Want to turn it up a little? Either keep the remote on top of the radio where the control belongs (so you effectively have no remote) or hunt it down from wherver you used it last. When I ordered the radio this did not sound as annoying as it is in fact; I grumble at this radio at least once a day because of this change from the older model. 2. The 'Aux In' port is new, different from that on the older model and a design for which I do not already have the connector. If it had, or also featured, the style used on previous models I would have several of the type of connector needed. I use the connection to stream radio stations that are not available over the air locally... or, I used to. We have two other Wave radios purchased several years ago. I discern absolutely no difference in sound quality or reception between the new and older models. If I had it to do over I would simply hunt up a used, older model instead of buying a new one. I've been trying to find the perfect bedside radio/alarm for a long time. I have purchased and returned just about every high end, and other, models and manufactuers around. I never bought Bose because of the price. I found an open box model through Amazon Warehouse and went ahead and purchased it. It arrived in new condition, as described, with no signs of use or wear. After using it for about a month now, I realize I should have just spent the money a long time ago and saved myself all the headaches from my previous purchases. This is a solid, well built product that does everything I needed it to and does everything well, including connecting to my house system via Airport Express (thus no need ever for Bluetooth). I am glad I saved a few bucks going through Amazon Warehouse but, after getting this unit, if I had paid full price, I would be just as pleased. Highly recommend. Read more
