Unexpectedly useful—anywhere you can use a bright light. Versatile, high quality.
The media could not be loaded. I almost didn't order this because I don't often do RV camping, but then I thought of a few other uses and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did because I have already used it in completely unplanned ways, and found its many modes and found benefits for its well-thought-out design features. The light without its stand is similar in size and weight to a normal, small lantern. It has a loop handle on the top. On the bottom is a standard 1/4-20 threaded socket that works with normal tripods and four strong magnets so you can clamp it to a car, metal roof, etc. IPX4 rated—not immersible but a light rain won't ruin it. Its rechargeable battery, which charges via USB-C, is hefty—8000 mAh (59 Watt-hours), enough to run the light at least until midnight at maximum brightness or for many nights at lower powers. (I did not test those claims.) It charges in three hours. It can be used as a battery pack to charge other devices (USB, Lightning). 8000 mAh will charge recent phones (like an iPhone 13-17) 1.5 to 2 times. The lantern is very bright (claimed 3200 lumens) but versatile, with variable brightness, color, and direction. It has four large light panels, one on each side, aiming downward at roughy a 45° angle so it illuminates a large area when mounted high. There is a lensed flashlight on the top. A single button runs through all the modes. Click to turn on one panel, then two, three, four, flashlight; click and hold to change brightness smoothly from bright to dim and back; double click to change color—white (which looks 6000°K to me), yellow (2500°K, I am guessing), red (which preserves night vision and would be great for astronomy sessions; also maximizes battery life). Click once for off. Battery life varies with brightness and color modes. The tripod is amazing. Super sturdy, with long legs that make it exceptionally stable whether you use it on the ground or on a table. The telescoping pole goes from about 3 to 7 1/2 feet! It folds and extends very easily. I am thrilled with the quality. Controls are easy to operate, everything works smoothly, and it feels solid. Camping, yes—and I expect to use it in the yard and garage. Perfect for working around the house, on the car, behind the washing machine, or even cleaning out the not-so-well-lit closet. Tonight we have a big storm and guess what light I am leaving out, just in case! Read more
