This brace is fantastic for protecting my fifth metacarpal fracture and for adding stability and support through the fractured area and my wrist. The fit is great. It has a soft, smooth material that surrounds your hand and arm. The Velcro allows the brace to be adjusted comfortably around your hand, fingers and arm. I bought this on Amazon the night my son broke his ring finger on his left hand during football practice. I wasn’t sure at the time if he actually broke it. However, I knew we would need something to get us by and I couldn’t find anything locally. This arrived the next day and worked well. We took him for an X-ray the day after it happened and confirmed the break. “ Nondisplaced minimally angulated Salter-Harris II fracture of the base of the proximal phalanx, 4th digit”. We couldn’t get in to see ortho for until Monday (X-ray was on Friday). The orthopedic doctor loved this brace and said it was just as good (if not better) than what they would have given us. She said we didn’t need to get a brace from them and he could continue to wear this one. We had other nurse staff come in the room because the doctor told them about it and they wanted to see it. My son still plays football and wears this brace (plus some extra padding). It has held up well and is very sturdy. I like that it has metal in it and that you can remove the metal to wash it. I’ve washed the brace in a bra bag and had no issues. I highly recommend this. I did get another similar brace. However, we returned it. There was not metal in it and it was a little flimsier. Tried many different braces and this did the trick. It securely immobilized digits 4 and 5 and wrist. The metal splint can be molded to fit. Yes like all velcro, it can lose its effectiveness over time. Towards the end of my use I added a strip of velcro around the splint at digits 4 and 5. I should have done this on day one as it made it "very" secure. It was also pretty comfortable and easy to adjust. Mine was a karate chop fracture as opposed to a boxer fracture so good wrist support was also important. Read more

Ended up buying this because I unfortunately found out I was allergic to Neoprene and thankfully, this one is made without it. Anyways, its comfy and works just as expected. Size is just right, supports my pink and ring finger ( I have a 4th meta carpal spiral fracture ) and keeps everything stable. Read more

Thanks to this wonderful product, I am nearly fully healed and ready for action! It was comfortable enough to sleep in (after loosening a bit for the night). It made me feel very safe, whereas I would frequently re-injure myself without it. I even took a couple of falls without hurting my hand. It is highly adjustable so that it can work perfectly for your needs. Pros: - Very comfortable, even considering the broken nature of my hand. - Highly adjustable - Smelled good even after wearing for a couple of months. Cons: - None that weren't expected (can't type on a keyboard very well due to restricted motion).
