I found myself in the market for a laptop stand, when I realized I was doing a lot of slouching in my chair due to the height of my laptop sitting on my desk. Utilizing a stand would allow me to bring it up to an ergonomic height. I searched for a while until I came across the BoYata Laptop Stand. What a great find! It's super sturdy and arrived quickly. My laptop is 15.6 inches and not the lightest, and this stand handles it with no problem. It has a wide base, making it feel super secure and the adjustable knob at the back allows me to get it to just the right height. I purchased this for my desk at work to free up some space on my desk as well as to ease the pain of my neck. I was a little hesitant to purchase this at first because it did not seem like it would be as sturdy as some of the others listed. I am please to say that I was wrong. This is quite study. There is no wiggle whatsoever. The bottom of the base has non-slip pads on them so it won't be moving around. It is also wide enough to support my laptop all over so I don't have to worry about it falling off anywhere. It comes disassembled in three pieces, the base, the laptop stand, and the adjustable height part. I did start off by putting the base on upside down, but fixed it easily once I realized I had done that. I appreciate that the screws were easy to put in and sit flush with the level of the base, so there's no weird wiggle. It even comes with two extra screws (and the instructions say they're extra, so you don't have to figure out where they should go) and an allen wrench to install. Read more
The stand came well packaged- it was padded and packed nearly with all items needed inside, including 6 screws (2 are extras in case you drop one on the carpet, never to be found again. Not that I’m saying happened to me), Hex Key set (aka Allen wrench), instructions and the 3 pieces for your stand. It was very easy to put together (if you followed the instructions- which are clearly written but I decided I just didn’t want to bother with them and promptly screwed the first piece on backwards. Just remember: Righty Tighty, Left Loosie. It has served me well. Once I followed the instructions, I was like a Formula One pit crew and had it set up in no time (2 minutes and 4 seconds to be exact. Beat that Lewis Hamilton!) As you can see from my high end phone pictures, the stand works well for my 13” laptop, creating the height I needed so I don’t receive the dreaded triple chin on my Zoom calls. Plus I don’t hunch over when looking at my laptop so I’m not looking like an old hag…yet. One note, I use my laptop as a “2nd screen” since its plugged into a larger monitor and keyboard. So If you are using this stand to work off your laptop, it only raises it about 8” off your desk/work station- this is at its max height and leveled off. In my glamorous pictures, you’ll notice that my keyboard is tilted down as I don’t need it to lay flat since I use a regular sized keyboard (for my chubbylicious finger, don’t judge). I think this stand works beautifully for my needs. Easy to put together, does what it says, and was a good price. Great stand. Well built with very little wobble with my 17 inch laptop and under fan coolers . Adjustment is smooth and easy. Fit is just right for the larger laptop but will accommodate smaller laptops to without looking too bulky. Comes with rubber pads so nothing gets scratched. Perfect angle for me too. Read more
This stand is super simple and works well. It feels very strong, and very durable. I don’t worry about the durability at all. It clearly could hold much heavier than my laptop. It has strips on it to keep the laptop from sliding, and curved edges at the bottom as well. The center of gravity is obviously higher with this, but it feels very secure. The height works great for me, and I’m grateful not to have to look down to my laptop anymore. You will not want to type on a laptop while it is on this - very uncomfortable. I purchased the BoYata laptop stand and the matching monitor stand 1 year ago, and both are still working well like on day 1. The stands are made of good quality metal and are solid. The adjustment knobs are plastic but work fine. I think the laptop stand should have been made with a slightly taller lip to ensure any shape of laptop will not somehow slide off the front. (I have not had any problems with my work laptop.) Totally recommend these. I got even more height by putting the BoYata stands on larger, four-legged metal stands. Read more
