My son, 9 is a big boy and rarely can I order boys products even if XL and they fit but these are TRUE to Size! For reference he's a 30-31 waist about 135 pounds. And these sports boxer shorts fit perfectly. With an inch elastic waistband and a sports cup pocket they are perfect. The material is soft and quick dry. The length of the boxer shorts is really what I like. They are not too short on the thigh and they do not rise up when wearing under baseball uniform. Also, the included sports cup is a softer style cup making it perfect for younger boys. Cup is not a hard plastic,it's a soft fabric material. The waist band is about 15 inches across but it's elastic. the shorts length about 17 inches, comes down to mid thigh area. The compression boxers are comfy and don't ride up. The boxers washed nicely with no shrinking. The quality is excellent with Nice, even stitching. The medium grey is light and doesn't show under white baseball pants. These fit my son well and the quality is very evident. They have good elasticity in the waist and the stitching is solid, making these very durable sliding shorts for baseball. They don’t have overly thick padding like some, but my son prefers that instead of adding such bulk. We were surprised to see that it actually included a cup with the shorts; but his other cups also fit well in the provided cup pocket. I ordered these for my sporty 10 year old son to wear for baseball. They are a great fit with a comfortable waist band and leg openings, well sewn with no loose threads or off smells. This is a great set for your littlest baseball player. He seems comfortable in them even with the cup and they wash and dry easily. They fit true to size. There’s no extra padding, just compression shorts plus cup, so if you need sliding shorts, these aren’t them. Read more
My eight year old was mortified and wouldn’t try this on for comfort or fit, so I can’t give an honest observation there. I figure there will come a time he learns the hard way, just hopefully not too hard. I can say that the stitching is very securely done, which seems important in something like this. I’m just concerned that the stitching protrudes and feels scratchy around the crotch area, and I know my sensitive child is not going to respond well to that. I have been looking for new sliding shorts and cup for my son. I ordered a large based on the size chart. I received large sliding shorts and a medium cup. I’m not sure if the two different sizes were intentional, but it worked out fine. These shorts are very soft and fit him well. My son said they remind him of his Ethika Staple briefs and immediately liked the way they fit. Also the cup seems very durable. It’s made of plastic of some kind but has soft foam padding, and a mesh lining. My son played a game this last weekend and wore the shorts and cup. He played catcher and said they were very comfortable and the cup stayed in place. My son has several sliding shorts and likes these the best.
