Okay, didn’t totally expect this—but this brace *actually* works. I was waking up every morning with shooting pains in my right hand—it felt like it was on fire. If you’ve ever been close to frostbite, and then you warm up your extremities—it’s that feeling. Incredibly painful. After the pain subsided my hand was completely numb—sometimes for two hours—sometimes longer. Really debilitating. Doctor says “carpal tunnel” & if it gets unbearable there’s surgery, but doesn’t really offer much relief except NSAIDS which help with the pain but don’t affect the numbness. Anyway, I tried this. Does it work perfectly? No. Honestly my thumb is still slightly numb. But what a difference!! No pain & my hand is useable for personal care, driving etc. AMAZING. I was diagnosed with pregnancy carpal tunnel at the start of my 3rd trimester and was absolutely miserable. I tried two different braces and this was the second one I tried. Works great, very adjustable and comfortable. I think the soft part in the palm is the most helpful in easing the pain. My only issue is the velcro straps come off easily at times but nothing too concerning. I use them mostly at night and they allow me to sleep with the relief and I will occasionally wear them during the day to relieve the pain and numbness. If you wear during the day there isn’t a whole lot of mobility which doesn’t bother me too much. But if you’re looking for more mobility in a brace during the day this may not be the brace for you but great for sleep and night time. Read more
I ordered my original Braceowl carpal tunnel wrist brace about nine months ago. It stopped the night time pain from carpal tunnel syndrome immediately. Unfortunately, one of my dogs chewed it up. Thinking all carpal tunnel wrist braces were equally effective at wiping out the night time pain, I ordered one from a different source as I couldn’t remember where I go the original wrist guard. It was not a Braceowl and it did not relieve any night time pain. I then ordered another carpal tunnel night time brace and it didn’t offer any night time pain relief either. I searched and searched until I found the Braceowl brace. By this time, I was waking up every two hours from the pain. My wife told me that I was becoming a pain in the a$$. My Braceowl carpal tunnel brace stopped the night time pain first night! Slept great! It has to do with the way the brace supports the hand and wrist at just the right angle. And there’s a pad there in the palm area that the hand naturally curves into. And the brace doesn’t require severe tightening to immobilize the wrist like the other non-Braceowl braces. If you have to tighten the wrist brace, then the carpal tunnel syndrome pain is exacerbated! Don’t order any other carpal tunnel wrist guard! Stick with Braceowl!!! Read more
I have problem with my arms falling asleep at night, mostly my left arm. I have been using heavy duty wrist braces for years and while they work, not so comfortable. I saw the braceowl and decided to give it a try. I noticed it was a lightweight compared to what I was using. It is nice that it can switch between hands, but sometimes both hands/arms need it. It is very comfortable and not even notice I have it on while sleeping. I can use the heavyweight ones during the day when necessary, but at night it’s the braceowl for me. Read more
This brace provides great relief for my carpal tunnel symptom. Before getting this brace, I was only able to crochet a few hours a week, but know can crochet as much as I want (as long as I do my stretches). However, I'm only giving this 3 stars because the velcro stopped working after 3 months. I don't expect velcro to last forever, but I would have liked to get a year out of it. Read more
I noticed a difference in my pain after the first night that I wore these. The construction of these is well designed. The brace keeps my wrist straight as my doctor suggested. Some braces still lend a slight bend. The filling that conforms to my palm is comfortable and relieves stress on my wrist. The brace can be adjustedfor size and pressure in 3 areas, which adds to the comfort during the night. Keep the small velcro tab at the top section clean from fuzz or it tends to come ondone.
