Great company to order from.

I originally ordered two thumb splints from this company for my husband. While they fit his wrist, the thumb are was too tight for him to wear. I notified the company that I was returning them and why. I received an immediate email from them saying that they would be coming out with a thumb splint that had an adjustable thumb area and that it would be available soon. I went on the weblink provided in the email to pre-order them, and to my surprise it went through as an order and I received the new adjustable thumb splints withing 3 days. They fit my husband's wrists very well and comfortably, and having the adjustable thumb area is wonderful. They are really helping my husband with his pain. I wouldn't hesitate to order any other items from this company. The quality of this product, as well as their customer service, is outstanding. Read more

Functional, Protective and Well Priced

Having fractured my thumb back in September, and now that I'm moving back into the sports realm again, I decided I needed a little something extra to protect my thumb. If you’ve ever fractured your thumb, you know how long it will take for it to completely heal, and often time, isn’t quite the same as it was before. With one of the major portions of this healing process being inflexibility and strong sensitivity in the area of the break, this thumb brace seemed like a no brainer if I was going to be participating in any sort of contact sport moving forward. I wouldn't recommend it for any sort of wrist brace, but it's pretty spot on for thumb support. It's a little thick around the knuckle, which can be a bit of an issue if you're playing a sport like basketball. The tip of the brace is also a little tight, so if you have big thumbs or continued swelling from a thumb injury it may take a bit of getting used to. The fabric is a neoprene thumb sleeve, so it’s kind of like a wetsuit for your thumb, which means it can get a bit sweaty. However, cleaning is very simple and wiping it down with a cloth takes next to no time or effort. Haven’t had any issues with it smelling after use either. Other than a little tightness, and lack of wrist support, it’s great for overall thumb protection, and very functional as long as hand dexterity isn't paramount in the sport you're playing. The best splint for trigger thumb!

THE splint for trigger thumb! I have tried many splints for this painful, annoying condition, from the totally ineffective to the medieval torture devices. In very simple terms, trigger thumb (and/or finger) is caused by irritation of the sheath that the thumb's tendon slides through. When the sheath is irritated or inflamed, the tendon can't slide easily and catches - clicks - and the thumb gets stuck in an unnatural, painful bent position which has to be straightened manually with the other hand. The cure is either surgery or immobilization for a period of time until the sheath can heal. This doesn't always work but is worth a try. In the meantime, this splint immobilizes completely without being bulky. It doesn't need to be tight, is very comfortable, keeps my thumb from bending by accident (which is the whole point!) and doesn't interfere with the rest of your fingers. I can wiggle the tip about ¼" and that's all. It is washable, dries quickly (don't put it in the machine - the velcro will stick to everything!), doesn't smell. I don't know how effective this would be for other afflictions, but, for trigger thumb, it's the BEST. Read more

Really helps my problem: updated 1 month later

Until I can get to a doctor, this is really helping, especially typing. Well, just about everything. I need to work, and that is the most important thing, and that involves typing. I was just doing everything left handed, I am right handed. I can't open a door, turn the key etc -VERY hard, this brace makes it much much easier. My pain is in the Basal joint (nearst the hand on thumb) it was so swollen and sore, I was in tears, between icing and a couple days -much better, and this brace has certainly help me get things done without hurting (ok-crying). The ONLY thing is that it kinda cuts too much in the area on hand between thumb and first finger. Not awful, worth the benefit for sure. And the tip of the thumb I felt was a bit tight. I am a women of normal/avg size, fingers normal/avg size. So if you have a big man's thumb at the top it may not fit. All in all- worth a try.for sure! Updated 1 month later. Need to replace, got nasty feeling, washing by hand and dried over night. Still not good. Put into washing machine, not much change. Feels damp like, but isn't, was getting a little smealy, even after wash, not sure why. i am finding it gross. just bought another while this one sits in the sun for a while, also, the sticking started to pull out, and around the thumb it has frayed, but loose ends, but they keep coming. End result? Good for a couple weeks until you can get to the doc. Read more

Perfect for what we needed

My daughter hyper extended her thumb (she's a catcher) a few times this softball season. While playing outside or other non-softball activities she would re-injure it. We needed something to stabilize her thumb and allow it to heal. She's been wearing this brace for a few weeks now and it has really helped! She is no longer in pain all day every day and has her range of motion back. The velcro at the top of the thumb is starting to wear out. She is 9 years old and the brace fit her perfectly fine. ***UPDATE*** After my daughter wore this brace for 7 weeks straight, and then doing some strengthening exercises her thumb is back to normal. Zero pain and she is back to catching, but still wears the Evo Shield in her catchers glove. The velcro strap on the thumb has completely worn out and doesn't stay at all anymore. For short term use (I would say no more than 8 weeks) this brace will last, but more than that you would need to purchase another one. Since the brace did what we needed it to do, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if we needed it. Read more
