I am very impressed and satisfied with this shaver. I have light to medium thickness facial hair and this foil set up works great for me. I'm impressed at how well this shaver covers the curvature of my face and how close it cuts. Very comfortable to hold and use. Really happy I went with the movable head. Having two blade speeds definitely a plus. Charge lasts conveniently long and recharging is fast and simple. Included cleaning brush and storage case are very nice features. I finally did it and purchased a different brand of wet/dry battery shaver, as for many years I was buying Panasonic brands. Then Panasonic changed gears to make an okay shaver, time for a change for my choice. I charged this shaver up and got to use it the other day and the shave was remarkable and close, no burns or scrapping my face. My wife loves the close shaves, and I have heavy facial hair and this Braun shaver cut right through it without using the turbo mode. I may have a new favorite shaver, sorry Panasonic. Read more
It can in fact achieve a very close shave. But it does take a very long time to do so, especially with thick facial hair, as if the probability of the individual hairs actually entering the foil holes on a specific pass was way too low. Especially so for the hair on the neck. Compard to a Phillips series 7000 rotary with A YEAR OLD set of heads, it takes four times longer to complete a shave, but it is very close. A lot closer than Philips with a year old blade set, and even closer than a Phillips with new blades (I think). So the Philips will be the one that gets new blades next year, and not the Braun, because it shaves a lot faster, even if less closely. On the plus side, it comes with an USB cable and not a wall wart, so you can use it on a trip more conveniently, and it is significantly less sensitive to moisture when dry shaving - it shaves similarly when the face is slightly wet as to when it's dry, unlike a rotary that requires the face to be either 100% bone dry or fully wet to shave at all. This means it is a good shaver if you have very high humidity in your bathroom, or you wash your face before shaving instead of after (which you would otherwise have to do if dry shaving as it is impossible to dry the skin enough with a towel for, say, the Philips rotary to shave well on). I literally sometimes had to dry my skin with a hairdryer as shave prep with the previous shaver. It is also good for wet shaving, and that's when it shaves the closest. I got so you used to my old Braun (15 years old) and even though I changed the foil every 12+ months I thought I got a good shave for an electric razor, but this shaver really comes the closest to blade shaving. Very smooth face after shave. I hope it will last many years. The only reason I bought this one was my old Braun would not hold a charge anymore. Read more
I bought this one in late November 2024 as a birthday gift to my husband. Only after a few month of use, maybe twice or three times a week, it is now kaput! For no apparent reason. Did not come with a pouch. First use left a lot of stumbles on my face . I had to finish with my d.e. razor and shave cream. Will give it another try before I decide whether to keep it or send it back Read more
