This lamp is a good value. I think the style is very versatile. The real marble base adds class and authenticity. This lamp looks like it came from the West Elm catalog. Anyway, those are all opinions. Here are some facts. The craftsmanship is as expected for the price range, fair. The fit and and finish is good enough yet not perfect. The metal frame is steel. The gold color appears to be paint with a lacquer coating. I first received a lamp with a rusted finish. Small dots of rust had broken through the paint in a highly visible location. It is shown in my review photos. Amazon quickly exchanged the defective lamp. However, the rust indicates that the finish is not very durable. A minor note, the included LED bulb leans cool white, supposedly 3000K. Luckily any other standard bulb can be substituted. Overall, I like this lamp. I give it a five star rating despite the mid-range craftsmanship. The value is still OK. I think it would be difficult to find an equally stylish lamp at this price. Read more

This is a pretty lamp, and I chose this style because I thought it would be easy to change the light bulb. The images make it look like a warm and cozy space with this light. However, the opening is emits blinding light. It was honestly too bright for the area I wanted to use it in (even with a dimmer lightbulb). I would have loved it more if it had been fully enclosed. If you want a soft glow, go with a fully enclosed globe. Read more

We had high hopes for this lamp, but unfortunately it fell short for us because of poor craftsmanship. What we hated: 1) The globe of the lamp did not sit flush against the holder (see photo). As much as we tried, we could never get the glove to sit fully flush once the inner piece we tightened down. We tried adjusting the globe, taking the piece off a and readjusting it, but after 15 minutes of messing with it we simply gave up. The globe never ended up sitting fully flush - which is annoying as when it sits on your desk with any movement, the globe wobbles (and makes noise). With the way the globe is designed to fit the lamp, there really is no solution to the problem. At this price point for a table lamp, we shouldn't have to worry about poor craftsmanship. 2) Glass-to-Metal contact. The globe itself has no felt/rubber/cork washer anywhere included. So you've got a glass globe directly touching the metal of the lamp. It would of been nice to have some sore of protection to "cushion" the fragile glass glove from direct metal contact. What we liked: 1) It's an attractive lamp, with a good modern design that works well in many different styles of décor. It fits well in our MCM style. 2) The marble base is heavy - no need to worry about it ever tipping over. 3) Assembly was simple, with easy to follow directions. All tools needed were also included. 4) Easy to use switch. 5) It was packaged well, and arrived without any damage. Due to the poor craftsmanship and the fact that the globe does not sit flush with this light, we unfortunately can't recommend this product. I’ve placed this lamp in my living room and it gives off a nice soft glow in the evenings. The design fits well with different decor. It might be nicer if the switch was a bit easier to reach without leaning over. Read more
