This material passes “The squat test”, is not see-through quality, stretches and maintains shape and flattens belly also is very thick. The only downside it has one pocket on the right hand side. no pocket on the left side. I’ll still keep them. I ordered two pairs in a medium. I am 180 and they fit nice and comfy snug. These are nice. For the price I am happy with the quality of these. They do fit snug. I usually wear a small-medium in bottoms, but I certainly could have gotten a large in these. They came in EARLY and who doesn't love that! They are super comfortable! And hug the thighs perfectly and the stomach isn't suffocating but is held in very nicely. Material is thin, but not in a bad way (it’s not thick and hot). I would not call these “tummy control” because they don’t have the “rigidity” to smooth any lumps. As a matter of fact, visually, I don’t like how I look in these because they show all the rolls and lines (re: material is thin). The waistband does come up high, at bellybuttons level, which is good. Would be great for layering under other shorts, which is what I do for jogging. At my widest in my hips I am 41.75 inches so I got the large. They feel ok but I do feel/see all the rolls and wonder if the XL could have been more comfortable. When I opened the package I was a little disappointed at first because I was expecting 3 instead of the 2 shorts that arrived. Then I checked the item again and I received what was advertised. I tried them on and was very surprised by the fit, fabric and weight of the short. They are lightweight, soft and I like the pocket on the side and of course the price. I have other shorts similar to these from another brand that I absolutely love that I've had for years. But I needed more but couldn't afford them.
