The perfect mug!

E. MaxwellFebruary 6, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I love my Bubba mug. I’ve had one just like this for years & I lost the little flap on the lid (which broke off years ago). I despaired of ever finding one like it till (thank you) Amazon! It’s not too big or small, keeps my beverage just the right temperature, has a leak proof top AND a handle! What more could you want? It’s perfect. Read more

Great mug for hot or cold.

Gina BJanuary 25, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Always great mugs and first time with this color. Use daily in my car. Fits holder very well. Cleans easy. One thing you gotta watch is not to hard drop top because it can break a part that holds the closure. I used the silver for years now. No matter how much you drop it it stays from dents, just scratches if dropped on cement. Keeps my ice water cold all thru night without a lid! Read more

Excellent- Tough and Keeps Liquids Cold for Hours

HKApril 24, 2021✓ Verified purchase

I just bought two more of these Bubba travel mugs. I have been using them for several years now, but when I wanted to get another one recently, I learned that Walmart apparently no longer carries this particular item. I was fortunate enough to find it on Amazon. The manufacturer states that the mug will keep liquids cold for up to 21 hours. I was so impressed after I bought the first one that I ran my own test, filling the mug with ice and water, putting the lid on it, and letting it sit at room temperature for 24 hours and then checking it. I found that all of the ice did not completely melt until well after the 24-hour period. It is a large stainless steel (30-ounce) container and I also like the way it is designed, with a reduced base so that it will fit into a vehicle drink holder and with a tight lid. I have never known one to leak (except when I forgot to close the drink opening tightly). I use them all of the time, and I sometimes "lose" one when I put it down somewhere in the house, basement, garage, outbuilding, vehicle, or even on the lawn mower, so I keep multiples on hand, so I always have one available until I find the previous "lost" one. Recently, when I was in the process of purchasing one from Amazon, I looked at the reviews and was surprised to find a number that were negative. Such as: "Leaks constantly," "do not keep things ice cold for long at all," "handle has already fallen off, "cheap plastic lid," and several that complained that the handle breaks off. I have never had any of these problems, and I do not treat these mugs with care. I have a couple that have large dents in them where I managed to bash them some way or other, and they still function like new. I also read where one reviewer said that she had used this Bubba mug for a long time and really liked it, but when she could not find it at Walmart anymore, she got one from Amazon and that it leaked badly. Made me a little nervous, but I still bought one from Amazon (and then another as I am afraid they might not be available much longer), and both of them are just as tough as the ones I have had for a long time. I don't know why the other folks had these experiences, but seeing as all of the really negative comments are less than 2% of the total reviews, I think they were just unlucky. As a result of now having owned six of these, I highly recommend them. Read more

Good mug, be aware of possible thread defect.

Ken R.December 15, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Already had identical mug but closure flap broke off. Could not find replacement lid so ordered whole new one. Some sort of thread defect in top of new mug causing cross threading. At that point lid is almost impossible to remove. It took quite a bit of time and great effort. Tried new lid in old mug and it worked. So basically, I bought the whole thing just to get a new lid but haven’t found anything I like better so am keeping. New lid in old mug works fine. Keeps coffee hot for two or three hours. Good capacity, comfortable handle, no leaks. We have many Bubba mugs of all sizes and this is the first with the thread problem. Read more

A good mug with some potential downsides - not necessarily as tough as it looks!

DvdmonJanuary 16, 2026✓ Verified purchase

There's a lot to like about this mug. It keeps things quite warm for hours. It's quite leak-proof when you screw the top on well. Finally it holds quite a bit of liquid, which surprisingly is a bit hard to fine in other options for keeping liquids hot. Unfortunately there are some downsides as well. For one, this mug is expensive. On the other hand, given how expensive most stainless steal mugs and water bottles have gotten (I see quite a few for $50!), it doesn't stand out as more expensive than similarly sized containers, so perhaps this is a cost of materials that just make these now harder to sell at the prices they were selling just 5 years ago. Secondly, the top latch that opens for you to drink from is not always obvious that it is secure. You do have to be careful that it is down all the way. And the other issue is that if you are transporting this in a way that causes anything to knock against that protruding part of the top latch, it can easily get pried back up, causing leaks or at the very lease quick cooling of liquids. Also, for some reason, once you screw the lid on, if you want to drink from the top with the lid on but the latch open, the handle sits on the left. So this will work great for lefties. Unfortunately for me (and I would guess a majority of the population) I'm a righty, and so this makes drinking a bit more awkward than with a mug that would allow a handle on the right so I could drink with my right hand. Finally, the in order to secure keep the liquid hot, I do have to screw the lid on in a way that it's not extremely tight, but not loose either. I screw it until it can't be screwed with a very light force, then I put just a drop more force into tightening it for one drop more tightness, but no more. Even doing that, though, has caused an issue. Perhaps I could have avoided this, but basically my process was to make a full pot of decaf coffee. I use a drip pour filter to pour my morning large mug of around 22oz, but then pour the remainder into this mug, screw the lid on, close the latch. After I am done with my breakfast, shower, etc., I come back to this mug and the milk that I've left out has warmed enough that it's not going to make a big change to the temperature of the coffee, so I have to unscrew the lid again and pour the milk in and add my sweetener so that I can then stir and reclose quickly to maintain the warmth. The main problem is the unscrewing. Somehow, leaving the hot liquid in the mug for 30-60 minutes before then trying to unscrewing the lid again makes it very challenging. I really have to stand there and put a lot of force into unscrewing it. The logical way to do this is to use the handle as leverage in unscrewing. This worked up until today, which is the 3-week mark of when I received the mug. As I was turning it, I heard a "ping" sound and realized that part of the handle had become unfastened from the bug. The handle seems to be attached to the mug via some kind of bonding. There are two metal pieces in the handle that attach to the mug, but I'm not sure what kind of bond they are using, whether it's adhesive or something stronger. In any case, one of these bonds came off, so the handle now is held by only one attachment. I can no longer use it as leverage to unscrew the top, and even holding the mug by the handle seems a bit precarious - I would not want to do this except for brief periods because it seems like with just one piece attached, there's a decent chance of that second bond breaking and the handle coming off completely. I say this is partly my fault in that I could have avoided this by heating the milk slightly in the fridge and putting that and the sweetener in my coffee when I first put the coffee in. That way I don't have to remove the lid until the mug has cooled way back down, which I assume would allow the parts to contract enough that unscrewing would be relatively easy. But, I didn't know that the handle was not meant for this kind application of force daily and that it would come apart after 3 weeks, so if I were to get this again (or perhaps get a new mug because they seem to have a decent return policy), I would just avoid doing what I've done. But just be forewarned that you need to use this kind of approach, which, perhaps is something I should have anticipated, but I think a lot of people will be in the same boat - you can't treat this mug like it's indestructible. You can definitely break it if you do the right things, so you still need to take some level of care despite how "tough" the thing looks! Read more
