Simple, durable, unbeatable and quality.

An Owl With kneesOctober 27, 2012

I just received the Buck 110 yesterday and I am not typically one to comment on my purchases but the sheer quality of this knife led me to write a review. I was, to be honest, simply looking for a good EDC knife. I am the type of guy who doesn't like to repeat what he has said if it has already been said and I certainly don't like to buy something again that has already been bought. Given that, I don't think I will ever need to buy another knife, circumstances permitting. The sheer heft and weight of the knife speaks volumes to the durability of the knife. It is not a light knife. Nor is it by any stretch a small knife. But I never asked for something that might float out of my pocket unchecked. I will say that it certainly was much larger than I had anticipated ( even given reviews pointing to the fact that this is a large knife), but I have no problems keeping this in my pocket. To be certain; I dont think I would be comfortable fitting anything else in the pocket with it, save some change or a pen. But rather than complain; I would say that if anything, it has earned its right to have its presence felt as I go about my day. Straight from the box it was the sharpest I have seen a knife. The amazon picture does a great disservice to spectacular workmanship on the brass, and particularly the nuances and rich color of the wood grain. It is simply beautiful. If it was not of such a sturdy and undeniably strong build I would be hesitant to use it. But its beauty is only surpassed by its simple functionality and toughness. Its is, unsurprisingly, built in the USA. As for the case, I could take it or leave it. I don't ever intend on using it but would I want to, I have found that it is a bit snug at first. Either way it seems to be solid and I would have no complaints using it while hiking or camping. But simply put the knife is razor sharp, beautifully constructed and one of the most durable knifes I have handled. It is large and that can be offputting to some, but really just look in the dimensions in the product description and take the measurement. Its right there for you to measure out. But even if you are unsatisfied by it, you sure as heck cant just break it out of dismay. Even if you do somehow manage to, the things got a lifetime warranty. All around, an amazing large knife that will not let you down. And it sure as heck wont be an heirloom to my children cause it's going underground with me, thats how much I like the thing. And with the affordable price, the kids can just earn their bread and buy one themselves, it won't break their bank account! Read more

Razor Sharp and 100% Authentic Buck Quality

VPNovember 23, 2025

This is easily one of the sharpest knives you can get straight out of the box. I originally considered the drop-point 110 with custom engraving from Buck, but since they didn’t offer an engraving preview, I went with the classic 110 from Amazon instead—and I’m glad I did. The knife arrived with the traditional black leather sheath. It’s sturdy, well made, and will soften nicely with use; the sheath is made in Mexico, while the blade itself is proudly made in the USA. I was initially worried about authenticity when ordering online, but this is a genuine Buck product that comes in a yellow box. Excellent quality and highly recommended. Read more

OMG! What a deal...what a knife!!!

T. TaylorJune 7, 2013

Trust me when I tell you that this price for a brand new Buck 110 folding hunter is unheard of!! Best price out there as it retails from Buck for about $70.00 give or take a couple of bucks. Next: When you take this knife out of the box and feel it in your hand for the first time you will know what quality workmanship is and never own another brand of knife again. It feels like it was made just for your hand. I have never felt a more high quality, better balance, heavy duty cutting tool in my life. Heavy duty but not bulky or "too much" for the hand...just perfect. It comes more than razor sharp and with a mirror polish. The heavy leather sheath is hand made in Mexico (just as excellent leather workers as Americans and I come from a family of Scottish and German-American leather workers) and is ready for a long life and will take all the punishment on the job or in the field you can give it. I'd still use some high quality leather treatment to weather proof it to extend it's life but it comes well treated. I've owned Cold Steel, Benchmark, CRST, Gerber...none of them measure up to this knife or the other Buck I own (A fixed blade Pathfinder). I'll never own another Knife after seeing the quality of Buck knifes. ALSO: A lot of people complain about how they were just throwing their new buck around and Oh my the tip broke off and that's proof that Buck ain't that good!!! Hey, Buford! Read the paperwork that comes with the knife or the specs on the web site: This is a cutting tool...don't throw your Buck knife. If you don't use it the way it was made to be used don't expect things to go wrong...and you also void the warranty. A buddy of mine that passed away recently was a Viet Nam combat veteran who carried a Buck Special and a Buck 110 Folding Hunter from his first tour in Viet Nam in 1967 all through his life and left his collection of Buck Knives (including the two mentioned above) to his oldest son who now uses them for hunting and such just like his dad did. That's 45 years of service. I think that's worth the $29.00 asking price. Hell; it's worth the $70.00 but I'm glad I found the one here instead:) Read more
