I grabbed this monster set because my old brushes were basically glorified q-tips shedding more than my cat. Thirty-six heads sounded like overkill, but once I unboxed the matte-black holder I felt like I’d robbed a backstage M·A·C warehouse. Bristle buffet: Goat + pony hair on the big face brushes feels like kitten bellies—zero scratch, even on post-retinol skin. The eye-detail guys are synthetic but still springy; they flick glitter instead of soaking it up and hiding it forever . Handle hype: Each ferrule is crimped so tight you could centrifuge it (don’t). I dropped the powder brush from counter height—just a dull “thunk,” no wobble, no Shakespearean death scene . Color coding: Short handles = eyes, long = face. Sounds obvious until you’re caffeine-deficient and accidentally shove blush in your socket. The glossy navy + champagne tips photograph like a beauty ad, so my feed thinks I have my life together . Functionality flex: - Angled contour: carved cheekbones sharp enough to slice pizza. - Tiny smudge brush: turned a day-old eyeliner into a smoked-out “I meant to look mysterious” situation. - Fan brush: highlighter so diffused my friends asked if I’d been “blessed by a unicorn.” Cleaning confession: Warm water + Dr. Bronner’s, swirl, rinse, done. No dye bleeding, no funky wet-dog smell from the natural hairs. They air-dry overnight and keep their shape—no sad porcupine spikes . Nitpick corner: Thirty-six pieces means you will lose one under the radiator and mourn for three days. And the super-holder is gorgeous but desk-hog wide; apartment-dwellers measure first. 4 ½ stars rounded up to 5. The 36 makeup brushes and black “super holder” arrived in a branded box (it’s a great presentation). All brushes were in the set, and small and large mesh covers (20 each) and an “owner’s guide” were included. The guide pictures and describes every numbered brush in English, with the names in English and French (same as the handles). Cleaning instructions are provided. The brush numbers range from 21 to 99, so not all numbers are used. The numbers, in a much larger font, are on the silver ferrules in addition to the handles. This is helpful because the ferrules are visible when the brushes are in the holder. These synthetic brushes are dense and soft to the touch, but with the right touch of needed firmness. The brush heads are securely attached, there have been no loose bristles, and the smooth handles felt good in my hand. This brand seems to only make / sell makeup brushes. I have three of their synthetic sets, and the two “PRO” sets (the 26-piece chocolate brown and this black 36-piece one) are my favorites (the third smaller set wasn’t PRO) because there was a difference in quality (for example, the brushes were firmer where needed and the bristles were more uniform). The subtly branded plastic holder is substantial, feels smooth to the touch, and is sewn well with good-looking seams on the back of both pieces. The bottom is about 4” tall and the lid is about 5”, so together it’s about 9”. It easily holds all 36 brushes, but I did find myself taking a moment to guide them under the lid. The two snaps that attach the lid work well. As a bonus, the interior partition piece is removable, and the two pieces (they separate) may be used as a mixing palette. This set did arrive with a slight plastic odor. The guide clearly states that the brushes may “smell like paint” from being in the holder for a long time and recommend washing them in water with a little shampoo. Washing the brushes (no issues) removed their odor, and a few wipes/light washes of the holder (the holder materials aren’t listed so I’ve been careful) and an airing will take care of the holder odor (my chocolate brown set had a stronger odor and took about two weeks). You get a massive amount of brushes in this kit. The brushes seems to be well made. I have been using them for a while and they have been holding up really well. The brush ends are so soft. They feel luxurious. They are also dense, so they hold makeup well and distribute the makeup evenly. This also allows for wonderful blending abilities. I have only washed the brushes once, but this went well with no problems. I have not had any shedding. I feel the price is really reasonable considering ALL of the brushes you get and the quality of them. Read more

Such a great value for this set of synthetic brushes. The brushes are labeled either with size (number) or description for use. The brushes are soft, lightweight, easy to hold. No fall out. And no funky chemical smells. Read more

These brushes are well made and good for beginners to pro on a budget. My favorite brush is the eyebrow and lash brush because it's made of hard material that makes it easy to go through tiny lashes. Since I'm not a make up artist, I only need couple of brushes and for me the other ones seem redundant. Read more
