Since it’s real leather, it had a slight odor out of the packaging, which was expected but it went away quickly. It’s a very good looking belt and appears to be of great quality. I have worn it once and it was comfortable and secure. It’s a good work or CCW belt, although for CCW you might want a 1.5” version instead of 1.25”.
