My husband has purchased inexpensive belts for years. He always wanted a good-quality belt, but he didn't want to pay the money. In the past 15 years, he's gone through about a dozen belts (all of which looked terrible in short order), wearing them until they literally fell apart. I finally convinced him to spend the money to buy quality. I found this one for him based on his preferences. He balked a little at the price, but I stood firm. I was happy and amused at how excited he was when we ordered this belt. He eagerly awaited its arrival, and he wasn't disappointed. This is a solid belt, and it's beautifully finished. The stain's color is rich and...I don't know what else to call it but "pleasant." The leather is thick and one-piece, yet pliable enough to not be a struggle to put on, and it's wide enough to wear with jeans without straining the belt loops, yet not so narrow that it looks unnecessarily dressy. The design of this belt is thoughtful, too. The holes are cut obliquely so that the buckle's spindle (I'm not sure what else to call it) doesn't compress and deform the leather. The buckle is beefy without being obnoxiously chunky, and it has a roller to make it easier to put on (and to put less strain on the finish of the leather, presumably). The listing description says the buckle is "stainless," and it does look and feel like stainless steel, though I don't think the description says the "steel" part. I measured his old belt according to the instructions on the listing and ordered accordingly. He was between sizes, and I ordered the larger size, but I think it would have been better to order the smaller size, as there are 4 or 5 holes to use if his waist size grows larger, but there are only 2 holes to use if his waist size grows smaller, and since he's been slowly losing weight, I may be buying another Bullhide Belt to replace it soon. HOWEVER...there is a removable screw in the belt, that I think might be there so that the belt can be shortened; I'm not sure what it's for, really. Perhaps that's in the listing description, but there were no instructions in the box. Maybe the folks at Bullhide Belts should include that information on their listing description. As it is, I'll need to visit YouTube University or ask Google to find out. The shipping was fast, and the belt was packed in a super heavy-duty box. The best part is that my husband is thrilled with his new belt. I'm certain that this belt will last for longer than any of his others have and stay looking nice, too. After seeing his reaction to this one, I'm sure that my husband would enjoy receiving a couple more belts in different colors, so that may be something I'll be doing for him as gifts. I replaced a Carhartt belt that had stitching. I am constantly hooking my impact driver or drill on my belt at work, and also my CCW holster adds wear, and normal wear and tear from work in a trade, all contribute to stitching in belts coming out and pulling, looking like crap, and the thinner belts not doing the job of actually holding up my pants very well. This belt is gorgeous and while I expect the lustrous deep black finish that’s on it to wear and fade with time, there is no stitching to pop. I caught a great deal after Thanksgiving 2024, but these are worth the normal price all day long. I wear a 33/34 Carhartt waist and the 36 size belt is perfect whether I make extra room for a holster (IWB) or not. Within minutes of putting on the new belt, the leather warmed, and it conformed to my body, but didn’t stretch. This belt is so thick that at first it was a little difficult to get the tail to bend enough to make it through the retaining loop, but it’s become slightly softer after wearing it for about a week. The only negative is, my DeWalt tool hooks aren’t wide enough to fit over this massive thick strap of monster hide. This belt is more comfortable than thinner leather, has not stretched, is confidence- and pride-inspiring, and absolutely reeks of American quality. It fills belt loops better and my pants waist lies flat without bunching or wrinkling, or sliding down. Chicago screws make the hardware replaceable. I suspect I will wear this beauty for many years. I've seen these belts online for a while now but I never pulled the trigger. But I can now say, I'm happy I gave it a go. Before opening the package, the first thing I noticed was the belt is packaged in a durable box. That's a nice touch and prevents your belt from getting crushed in an envelope. When I opened the box, I'm staring at the nicest belt ever made. I know it's just a belt. But is it really? I'm a belt guy so I recognize quality when I see it. Go out looking for a good, well made belt at the mall. You won't find it. The belts at the local mall are made with cheap, bonded leather. And a lot of belts now come in a size range so you have to trial and error it for a good fit. This Bullhide belt comes in your exact size and providing you follow the instructions, you will have no surprises with the way it fits. American made, real leather. And it's thick and durable, too. The buckle is smooth, durable and polished. And it's removable should you want to use your own buckle. I plan on building my belt collection with some other colors and styles. Received my belt yesterday. It looks finely made and fits perfectly. Workmanship seems perfect and fits just as advertised. It has nine buckle holes and my belt fits right in the middle at hole number five - just as I measured according to their instructions. Nine holes affords me the opportunity to gain or lose weight and still be able to wear this belt. Many companies only use five holes. If anything changes to the five star review I have assigned, I will update this review. Thus far, if you want a good, well-made belt, then buy from bullhidebelts.com. Update 10 June 2025 - Have used this belt for a few days in hundred degree weather. Belt does not stain my clothing. Belt is stiff and great for a holster. It is comfortable to wear. It fits perfectly so the instructions they give for measuring was accurate. I've noticed something new. Most belts have their holes about an inch apart. This has the holes 3/4" apart. This small amount of difference is very noticeable and makes deciding on which hole to us much easier than the 1" holes. This is a huge difference.
