The belt arrived ready to use. I followed the instructions and cut off the excess belt and burned the end to stop any fraying. The belt is nylon so a simple lighter to the cut edge and a pinch with my fingers and the belt's cut edge sealed up. The buckle has a little lever clasp that opens and closes the ratchet part of the buckle. You will need to use the lever to insert the belt into the buckle. Once you get used to the placement of the lever clasp, the belt is very easy to put on, adjust, and take off. The nylon is strong and durable so the belt should last a while. The buckle holds the belt well and only under strenuous activity did the ratchet in the buckle give just a bit. The belt stayed on and was still snug, but I did note the buckle sliding a hair. The belt fits well and looks great, especially with the metal belt buckle. The detail on the belt buckle is done well and easy to see. Overall the belt is easy to use, looks good, is comfortable to wear, functions like a belt is supposed to, and should last a while. I love this belt. I originally thought that it was going to be way big. But once I got it, It was the same size as my current one. I really like the design, a cowboy inspired one with the bull horns in the middle. Adjusting the size and trimming the excess couldn't be easier. Take the belt and place it around your waste, Mark it, and give yourself 6 or more inches for the tongue. Cut the excess off and melt the ends. And you're done. I really like the release action. The media could not be loaded. This is an excellent quality belt and buckle. I was hoping it didn't stretch too much, but it doesn't. It can fit rather tight if needed, but it does stretch a bit if pulled on with signifigant force like bending down. I like the way that the belt, and buckle look. It fits through my belt loops. It can be cut to size by removing the belt buckle. There are directions on how to cut it if you want to do that. It came at the same length that I ordered. I like the color. It looks good with my jeans. This is strong enough to use with a holster or other clip on items. Overall I think it is a very good item that is a good value for the money. I will enjoy using it.
