Very good hardware but the VIOFO app is lacking
I have two new A329S 3-channel kits and one new A229 Plus 2-channel kit. I am running the A329S units with recommended SSDs connected with 10' of these cables: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DDGZB6YT?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3, instead of SD cards. Using identical camera installations and software settings, the installation in one vehicle works well and the other vehicle never gets a GPS lock. Very long story short, the issue was with the non-VIOFO SSD cable. VIOFO Support noted they have had some customers experience camera GPS problems using non-VIOFO SSD cables... I needed 10' SSD cable length so added a 24" USB 3.2 Gen 2 cable to the VIOFO 8' cable and everything works well. The VIOFO app, when actually connecting to the camera, works very well- when it connects. Most of the time I have to power-cycle my Samsung phone in order to get the VIOFO app to connect to the camera- even though the WiFi connection always connects properly, as expected. Investigation shows other people have the same VIOFO app issue- which VIOFO needs to fix. Consistently power cycling a phone to fix an app issue is really not a fix and is frustrating.
