The sound quality is decent, but switching between music mode and golf mode is quite complicated. This is likely Bushnell’s first speaker with a touchscreen, and the system interface isn’t very user-friendly. Hopefully, it can be improved through online updates in the future. Additionally, the speaker has a fairly large screen, so for outdoor use, it’s necessary to get a tempered glass screen protector. I searched for a long time on Amazon before finding one from Vivelancia. The screen protector fits perfectly—I was able to apply it easily without any bubbles. The package includes two protectors, so I’ve used one and have a spare left. At just $9.99, I think it’s a worthwhile investment. My Background. Avg bogey golfer--some great holes, most good holes and a couple "wish I had that shot back again, where did my ball even go" holes. ;) Bought to replace my 15 yr old bushnell scope. Pros: - accurate - quickly ascertain distances at a glance - decent music sound - have had zeros issues with holding a charge - NO ANNUAL subscription! - magnet seems strong; never moves even over some good and unanticipated bumps. Cons - Must download the bushnell app, create an account, and have the app open while golfing. Me? I hate creating accounts for an app. Can't speak to its security of ones privacy info. -- hmm. First time using the app -- which I was forced to do to use the wingman hd. I learned the app is pretty good and has more details for keeping score (in the fairway, greenie, # of putts). I found myself using the app to keep score after each hole (it did sync score changes to the wingman hd). Each time I did this, it would show next hole info, like distance etc and I wondered why do I have the wingman? $200 for speakers? - Clunky to operate. I saw this term in some other reviews ... now I know what it means. To me it means the screen is not very responsive to touch. Unlike my iphone. It seems I have to swipe several times to change screens or tap the screen 3 or six times on the screen location to enter my score for each hole or if I want to use the "distance to shot feature. Imagine if u had 6 screen protectors on your iphone and tried to use it -- that is what this seems like. I did buy a screen protector for it but did not install it because I fear it would make the touch response worse. Maybe a firmware update will fix this? Note: it did do an update upon activation. - If you want to use the club recommendation feature ... you must download another non bushnell app and create yet another account. I did not do this so I can not comment on it other than to make you aware this capability is not inherent to the "off the shelf" wingman hd. Read more
