This is a serious torch for serious professionals, not for the average Joe in my opinion. There is no safety switch to prevent ignition, and no trigger or release to shut it off. So for example, if this thing is lit and you accidentally knock it over or drop it, it will continue to burn until you can grab it and turn the valve shut. So be careful you don’t have anything combustible around the area you’re working in. Don’t get me wrong, if you are responsible and not clumsy at all, go for it. It’s a really well built torch. Actually a very nice unit. Mine works great and like the good solid feel and the adjustment to the flame works well. Use it in the kitchen and for removing air bubbles in resin pours. Read more

All triggers on all torches die eventually. This model took a month and a half to fail. Lame but no biggie.. until I refilled it and heard it leak from the seal near the flow dial. Can't recall dropping it and if it did it would've been no higher than a 3 foot fall onto carpet. Had higher hopes in keeping it around for years based on the way it feels. It seems like it's sturdy but it's deceptive like that, so don't let it's weight fool you. And I assume no returns cause of safety concerns in transit makes it risky, disappointing I can't get it replaced for free. Read more
