It works great if you follow the directions. Just keep the butter cold. Keep the whole thing in your fridge. Then after you use it put it back in the fridge. If the. This item seemed like a great concept, but it just didn't function. After putting a stick of butter in, the piece of plastic that pushes the stick down as you cut it just pushed the entire stick of butter our of place. Okay, so this item was no match for gravity. I get it, science is hard. I tried to compensate by using the dispense at an angle where I could manually push the butter stick out to cut it. That sort of worked. Unfortunately, the cutting of the butter didn't make a nice little pat. It ended up smushing the butter against itself, and it smeared around the "blade", so I had to go in and scrape it out to use it. It left a bit of a mess. I don't know how this was easy clean either, as it did not open up to properly clean, meaning it would eventually become unsanitary. I filed for a return and Amazon automatically granted me a refund since it did not work as described. Cool, free item to keep right? Nope. Threw it away. It's garbage. Read more

This is garbage. It’s made with cheap plastic parts that break immediately when you use it the first time. Don’t waste your money. I thought it would be a handy thing to have in the fridge for toast, waffles, and pancakes. There is a little plastic tab that keeps whole stick of butter from falling out. It broke and fell off immediately. I epoxied it back and then the little plastic gears that feed the butter broke. Wish someone would have wrote a review I could have read before I wasted my money. Again, it’s a good idea but this is made poorly. It’s in my garbage can now where it belongs. Read more

Extremely difficult to dismantle to clean it is not possible to fully dismantle. Also does not fit standard Costco stick of butter which means it won't fit any stick of butter except for the most very skinny butter if any. What use is it if you can't fit a stick of butter in it Read more
