This is a very nice musical instrument set that is being enjoyed by two toddlers ages 1 and 3. The size and quality feel of the mostly wooden based items is very good and able to withstand heavy use and abuse. The sound quality is reflective of the instrument’s purpose, those proportionate with its small size, is cute - so the maracas for example sound just like maracas and the tambourine sounds like a tambourine, etc. but, a small version of the adult size instrument. I've long called my sister the "Toddler Whisperer." As an early childhood Montessori guide of over 20 years, she specializes in not only teaching18-36 month children, but also the adults who seek to become fellow Toddler Guides. So when the opportunity to review this product arose, I was excited to be able to put this music set to the test by sharing this set with her classroom and getting her opinion. In short, the children loved it. They enjoyed being able to bang, hit and shake these instruments to produce their own unique sounds. Adults will appreciate that each piece is safely constructed for little hands and equally important, easily cleanable. The only minor shortcoming was some excessive glue on the hand drum that had to be filed and sanded away. But that was mostly aesthetic rather than functional. This music set will remain in her classroom where it will help develop young minds for years to come. Read more
