This was exactly the perfect item I needed for my laptop. I bought a new laptop which only has one USB port, but I find I need to have more than one USB item plugged in at times. This little hub is perfect! The price point was great, and it does exactly what I need it to do. It has 4 ports, and I've used up to 3 at a time (mouse, keyboard*, and cell phone). It charges the cell phone while it's plugged in. * Why do I need to plug in a keyboard if I have a laptop computer, you might be wondering? Well, it's because this crappy laptop loses its ability to recognize its own keyboard. This is a Microsoft Surface at it's the most horrible laptop ever, so bonus review: Don't buy a Microsoft laptop! The first time the keyboard pooped out, I took it back to Best Buy where they reinstalled the operating system. That did the trick, but then 4 months later same thing happened again. That's when I bought this little gadget so I could plug in my external keyboard and my mouse. Then about a month later, the laptop's keyboard started working again. It's still only 10 months old, and it's given me more grief than any laptop I've ever owned. But thank goodness for this little 4 port hub; I'm sure I will be needing it again many, many times! Excellent customer support Excellent customer service The Cable Matters 4 Port Ultra Mini is one of the smallest usb hubs around i was going to use it to connect 3-4 flash drives at the same time and have a sort of mini ssd drive, well here's what happens, when 3 Sandisk 128gb flash drives are connected its imposible to transfer files because the hub keeps disconnecting from the computer, it seams to be underpowerd and not stable to use so i DO NOT recomend this hub at all and if you buy it you run the risk of LOOSING YOUR MONEY, IT WILL NOT WORK!!!!! Update April 12th 2016 Updated review: Excellent customer service The cable matters usb 3.0 octagonal hub is a 4 port usb high speed hub that's one of the smallest ones on the market and the Only hub that's flat round and compact, to me is a big advantage when you're on the go, the hub was tested on a 2015 MacBook Air 13 inch, with 2 128gb Sandisk ultra fit and 1 64gb Sandisk ultra fit flash drive, 1 Sandisk Extreme 64gb flash drive, 1 silicone power 16gb flash drive, 2 Samsung fit 128gb flash drives and 1 Seagate 1tb hard drive. Data transfer rates depended on the speed of the media and seemed unaffected when transferring multiple 2, 3 and 5 gb files both between the drives and the drives and computers. Power output is great on All 4 ports. PROS Compact hub Fast USB 3.0 speeds 4 slots. Virtually flat. Power output is great on All 4 ports. Can be used as a small SSD with multiple flash drives. (Sandisk ultra fit 128gb NOT recommended with this hub, has disconnection issues). CAN connect with a power bank and charge more than one item at the same time, amperage and voltage is excellent. Device itself is fantastic, I am running into one problem and not sure who is at fault. I am trying to use my Logitech MX Master mouse USB receiver with this device and my 2015 MacBook Pro. When plugged in the mouse jumps all over the screen and is not fluid at all, I have tried all 4 ports. When I pug the receiver directly into my computer it works fine. I am thinking maybe there is just some communication issues between the two technologies. For now I am using the port on my MacBook, but that kind of takes the point out of the purchase in the first place. Works great for my external hard drive though, USB 3.0 is a major plus, and it lays flat which is really cool. So if you are buying this for the purpose of using a USB receiver, but aware you might have issues. Read more

The "Ultra-Mini 4-Port Super Speed USB 3.0 Hub" has proven to be a outstanding product. Does as advertised. As stated in the enclosed booklet, it is not compatible with some 2.4 GHz devices such as a mouse. It's size allowed me to tuck it into a "cool pad" slot under my laptop, while leaving peripherals, such as my 1-TB external hard drive hooked up all the time. Have used the "Mini 4-Port Hub" for a couple weeks and I am very satisfied. Only wish I'd ordered one for my wife's laptop at the same time. Thanks for making such a efficient, affordable product. Android Auto works on my 2022 Hyundai Palisade when cable connected. Android Auto will not work using the same cable through this mini port device. Additionally, a USB thumb drive loaded with music will not play when inserted into this device. Waste of time and money. Not sure why this device did not work as advertised; however, the seller quickly reached out to provide support, replacement, etc. Updated to 3 Stars due to good customer service and quick communication.
