I have been using this with the Nessus refill pod kit for my Nespresso Vertuo and it has been absolutely delicious! I was using the original Starbucks capsules but I have been refilling them with this and the quality is just as good if not better. I am caffeine sensitive so this was the perfect option for me as it is caffeine- free. I still feel a bit of the caffeine affects, but again, I am pretty sensitive to caffeine. I spent a fortune on burr coffee grinders, boutique roasted fresh beans, and accessories trying to get the best espresso. After 2 months of daily multiple attempts, all I ever got was sour and bitter shots. Sent all of that back and went with the stock accessories that came with my espresso machine and ordered Gavina extra fine decaf. I’ve achieved espresso nirvana! The chocolate notes and strong espresso flavor that are achieved with this brand are incredible. It’s extremely smooth and low acidity as it doesn’t bother my stomach like most other coffees. I’m very happy with this espresso. I have recently made the switch from my favorite regular espresso, as it was just getting to be too much caffeine throughout the day. I was hesitant to try finding one comparable to that smooth creamy flavor but Cafe Gavina definitely fit the bill. It’s a great taste at a decent price. I immediately added it to my regular monthly subscriptions. The only thing I don’t like is the ring around the very top of the can makes it difficult to switch into my canisters. Love this coffee! I can’t have a lot of caffeine so we will either mix this with our Bustelo espresso (our fave) half and half, or I’ll drink this on its own in the afternoon. Great taste and I find espresso style coffees to be easier on my stomach as they are smoother and less acidic, even though they are strong. We have had a monthly subscription for this coffee it seems forever- have never had any issues. I am a big espresso lover and drive more than the extra mile to get the roast I want. Fresh and in bulk, But I want to cut down on caffeine and was looking for a decaf espresso that would work well as a cortado or Americano. I have just opened the fourth can of the Gavina because this is a really convincing substitute for what I usually drink. The espresso has low acidity and tastes full just like a dark roast. There is maybe a hint of bitterness but nothing too distracting. I can't say that it is equal to a shot pulled from freshly ground beans but that's not a fair comparison. For what it is, I haven't had a better tasting decaf espresso. I noticed that the pucks sometimes come out a bit soggy in my Breville Barista Pro, but this has no effect on taste.
