This Caliart 176-piece art supplies kit is an absolute steal for anyone getting into sketching or drawing! I bought it as a gift for my teenage daughter who’s been wanting to improve her art skills, but I’ve ended up sneaking some supplies for myself too. The set comes loaded with everything you need: tons of colored pencils, graphite pencils in different hardnesses, charcoal sticks, pastels, erasers, sharpeners, blending stumps—the list goes on. The quality feels way better than I expected for the price; the colored pencils blend smoothly and have great pigment, and the graphite pencils give nice clean lines without snapping easily. The real bonus is the included 100-sheet sketchbook with three different paper types (white, toned tan, and black). It’s spiral-bound, sturdy, and the paper handles pencils, charcoal, and even light marker work without bleeding through. We’ve already filled a bunch of pages and it’s holding up great. Everything packs neatly into the zippered case, which keeps things organized and makes it easy to take on the go. My daughter loves it and uses it almost every day. I bought these for a complete set to have for myself. I haven't purchased a full new set in nearly 20 years. I'm honestly BLOWN AWAY with the amount of tools and sets of pencils in this set! It has a vast amount of colors and lots of variety for several media's. However, I have one complaint....This set does NOT have a white colored pencil....lol, and IMO, is a very important tool for blending colors. I hope Caliart can correct this in the future. Otherwise, high praise for a super affordable set of Art supplies! Thank you!!! I drew this for a lady that wanted a wolf. I asked her 2 of her favorite colors. She said pink and purple. What a great collection of tools for the budding artist! This selection fills the space between child/adult and beginner/intermediate students. Grandson asked Big MawMaws for his first art kit. This did not disappoint at all. It has a great storage that is durable to last. It has a large variety of colors he asked for.
