The igniter in my gas oven quit working. I had been lighting the oven with long stick matches, but that seemed wasteful. So I thought I would give this a try. You pull the trigger back and it sparks continuously. It lights the oven perfectly. I like that it has a long wand, and reaches the back of the oven very well. I keep it hanging near the oven and use it whenever i need to bake. It is the only thing I use it for. Read more
Bought this the first week of September in anticipation of sitting around my fire pit when the weather cooled down. Used it twice and thought the battery was low when it refused to spark. The light was on , but no spark. Figured long shelf life may have reduced battery power. Replaced battery with new one and it worked exactly once!!! I usually don't write a bad a review if the product I buy through Amazon does what it says it does. I can't support the purchase of this product at any price, because it doesn't work. My next step is to contact the company and I will update this review based on their response. Read more
The igniter on my mom's old stove just gave out after 20 years. Since she does not want to waste money to buy a new stove she is only going to use for a few years, this was a good choice. I bought the longer version since the length might come in handy for lighting a boiler or something and my mom has a really short reach. Works great a long as you got a good stream of gas going. My only complaints are that the long nose is heavier than the trigger and handle portion, so the whole thing is off balance when you hold it, and the cover to the battery is easy to put on, but near impossible to take off. I have a few natural gas appliances that need ignition to start. One is a Tandoori Oven and the other is a fire pit. For safety reasons, I wanted something with a long reach. Many lighters from Brick and Mortar stores do not have much length for my comfort level. This is the best tool I have for lighting my appliances. It's a battery powered sparker. It's simple to operate by just pulling the trigger. The flexible rod allows for getting to harder to reach areas since it can be angled or curved. This makes even lighting my pilot lights in the water heater much easier. Love this device. I don't need to keep lighter fuel or butane around. Highly recommend. Read more
Not a typical lighter, this one is much safer because it sparks and it has to be fairly close to the fuel source to ignite it. The wand is very long and will bend to reach pilots that are difficult to light. I use it frequently because I service commercial kitchen equipment. Read more
Great for starting the grill even in a howling gale. On the flame type you get one spark and if you are lucky you'll get absences flame this gives continuous sparks. Will only light gas. But for gas grill that has soarker dead or furnace or water heater it's awesome. Flexible end goes anywhere. Just remember the flexible one is close to 2 feet long. So it isn't going to just fit in a drawer. I have it hanging up. Read more
