I have bought several drinking cups (over 10 different styles!) to find the perfect one for my toddler. The CamelBak Eddy Water Bottles for kids are my absolute favorite! She can easily open and close the top spout by herself and has no problem drinking out of it at all. I love that it is only four pieces to disassemble and wash. All of the pieces are very easy to clean and sanitize as well. She has thrown this bottle around and been very tough on it and it has held up beautifully! We own several different designs, and I can't pick a favorite because they are also cute! The designs have not chipped or faded after several washes. They basically look brand-new after months of abuse and use. I highly recommend these bottles if you are transitioning your child from a baby bottle to a regular cup. The only little negative is once she has sucked the milk up into the top spout, if left sitting open, a small amount of milk will start to spill out of the bottle. If you make sure to flip the spout closed then there is no problem. All in all, it leaks way less than any other cup we have tried! It is a great size for car seat cupholders and car cupholders. If my review has helped you in any way please consider clicking 'Yes'. Thanks in advance. Read more

Between our 5 year old and 2 year old, we own 8 (!) of the CamelBak Kids Eddy water bottles and the whole family loves them. They're cute, durable, do not leak when properly assembled, and are very easy to wash. The bite valves may need periodic replacement if your child likes to literally bite/chew on them, but replacement valves and straws are readily available. I recommend hand-washing the straws because they seem to shrink lengthwise in the dishwasher. We use a Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Brush to wash these - the bottle brush is fine for the bottle and cap, and it has a nipple brush that's perfect for cleaning the bite valves. At this point the kids only drink water from the bottles so there's no real need to scrub the inside of the straws; we just run hot soapy water through the straws and rinse well. The parts dry quickly on the Boon Grass Countertop Drying Rack leftover from when the toddler was a baby. Our 2 year old refused every type of sippy cup we tried, and we switched her to these bottles at around 11 months old when she grabbed her big sister's Eddy bottle and took a swig of water. Clearly the bite valve on the Eddy worked for her! Our kindergartener takes one of her Eddy bottles full of water to school every day. While recommended for ages 3-8 many toddlers are able to use these bottles with a little practice, and they're cuter and more convenient than a traditional sippy cup. Read more

I've tried a lot of water bottles for my kids (ages 6 and under). This is my review of a number of products that I've tried and my comparison of each one in the order that I've tried them. -- Nalgene Grip N Gulp: It's awesome because it doesn't leak! The downside is that it requires bit more sucking power, so it took a bit more work for my kids to adjust to it. The rubber valve also molds if you aren't vigilant about cleaning it, but you can buy replacement valves. I have since learned to use it only for water and to wash and dry it every night. 4 stars for good all around design and that it's easy to clean, but minus 1 star for drinkability. -- Sugarbooger Flip & Sip: Someone gave this water bottle to my 10-month old, and he learned to drink from a straw immediately. I was thrilled. Plus the design on the bottle was super cute. But after a couple of weeks, it started leaking, because the plastic had cracked inside the bottom part of the water bottle (where there's double plastic). So I bought this one, because the first one worked so well, and after a month, it cracked too. So 3 stars for drinkability, but minus 2 stars for lack of durability. -- Nalgene Kids OTF: I liked the Grip N Gulp well enough to try this one with my 3-year old, but he just wasn't ready for such a fast stream of water, so I've put it on the shelf to try again in a couple of years. I'll reserve my star rating for when my kids are old enough to use this one, but I don't recommend it for toddlers. -- CamelBak Eddy Kids: There are more parts to clean than the Nalgene Grip N Gulp, but if you're careful to clean it daily, it works really well. I also love their Got Your Bak guarantee. 5 stars for ease of use, design, durability, and drinkability. Read more

My toddler loves this bottle. It seems to be the most intuitive straw based design out there. We bought this because whenever his friends came over and had these, he would ignore his own water and steal their camelbaks. It comes apart easily and can be thrown in the dishwasher, which is nice (the mouthpiece and straw separate). The bottle doesn't leak unless he flips it upside down and smushes the mouthpiece on a table, in which case it will leak a bit. Also because of the leakproof nature, make sure if you take it on an airplane to unscrew the cap to relieve the air pressure (most notably after takeoff when you get up to cruising altitude). Otherwise your toddler will push on the mouthpiece with his fingers and send a 10 ft water geyser over to the unsuspecting people in row 26. But if you are really quiet they might just think they were imagining things. Also, don't fly with a toddler. The water bottle is great. Read more
