Some may wonder why coffee would be a "Scandinavian Blend", since there's no coffee grown anywhere near the frigid northern reaches of Europe. The real reason is that Scandinavians are the highest consumers of coffee in the world per capita, so they know what they like. This whole bean coffee is a dark roast with a pleasant aroma, and unlike many dark roasts, the beans are not really oily meaning they won't gum up your grinder. I ran my first batch through my Breville BDC600 drip coffee maker, and it made a flavorful cup without any bitterness (I use paper filters). I drink this Daily and Grind my own Beans, it is perfect for me on strength with the Keurig Coffee pot i have allows adjusting the strength you can also control the amount in the Pod before you brew to make it less strong or more.. Remarkably good-- nice and fresh, great taste and aroma. I was skeptical-- 4lbs of coffee for $25? Those are 2001 prices. It comes in the most generic white bag you can imagine, you'd better hope your package isn't somehow intercepted by the DEA because this looks pretty non-commercial. So see that neat looking label in the listing, nicely designed right? Nope, it's a plain white bag with COFFEE written in stencil letters. No packaging design here. I opened mine and poured the beans into three Ziplock ™ gallon bags with the double seal to keep everything fresh. Each morning I grind enough for a pot and it is easily one of the best tasting coffees we have ever tried-- and trust me we are coffee people. So if you can get past the idea of impressing your friends with the design on the bag but want to wow them with one of the best cups of joe they'll ever have don't hesitate and buy it. Read more
This coffee performs well in a drip or in a French Press. It is affordable, particularly in the 4 lb bag. It is 5 stars for what it is and for the value you get. Few coffees achieve this balance. The negative is that it does not perform well in an espresso. It is inconsistent and difficult to dial in. It also becomes bitter in the espresso, which you do not get in a drip or French press coffee. Recommended as a daily drinker due to its high value. Read more
Okay whole bean coffee, but really beat up and many small particles of broken bean. Have ordered Cameron's numerous times before but never the Scandinavian. Disappointed but maybe it was a fluke. Read more
