Worked great for the first few times then the o ring on the bottom part starts swelling and the flow of the water stops. The bottom part keeps coming unscrewed and falls into the thermos. The orientation of the spout also doesn’t align with the handle. Read more

Overall great stopper. It is a 2 piece design so make sure you tighten it accordingly. The spout does end up perpendicular to the handle, I imagine its due to avoid plagiarism to the original design but to me its not a big issue. It pours great, it seals great, great price. First off, my Stanley thermos does not have a handle, so I can't speak to the orientation of the spout when it comes to handled models. Also for clarity, this is a "toggle" design. That is, you flip the tab on top and it stays open, you don't need to hold it as with some other designs. Overall this is a great lid. I have had no issues with leaks even storing my thermos on its side. The lid does a great job of insulating compared to the "pico de mate" style of lids with the flip-out spout. Water can easily stay hot all day. The pour is precise and the flow is ample and steady. However, it loses one star for the design of the lower gasket. This is the gasket that engages to keep the spout closed. Over time it will swell and seat itself imperfectly. This leads to a slower trickle when pouring. That said, it is easy enough to pull the gasket out of its seat and tuck it back in, it just takes a little practice. You want it to look like a nice, flush circle. Overall this lid is my daily driver. Occasionally having to re-seat the gasket is a minor annoyance, but one I can live with. If you want smooth pours and terrific insulation, this is the one to get. I bought this cap to use with a Stanley thermos. Although it says it is compatible with these thermoses, once it is fully screwed on, the spout does not end up in the correct orientation—it points to the side or the back. No matter how it’s positioned, it always ends up in the same direction, which makes it impossible to pour hot water properly. I request a refund for this stopper since it cannot be used. Read more
