Better buy two, when your partner sees this they may claim it as their own.
I’ve been looking for an upgrade from the piece of copper pipe with duct tape on its ends that I've been using as a clothes rack when I go on road trips. Since I only use the rack a few times a year, the fact that this one breaks down compactly for storage was a definite plus. It was very easy to assemble (and disassemble). The three steel sections fit together snugly and securely. The lever that locks and unlocks the telescoping portion of the rack has a solid action to it and was easy to operate. The range of adjustability not only assures it will fit many different size vehicles, but I can see using the rack in other settings besides inside a vehicle. The rack has two ways to attach it to the garment hooks above the rear doors in your vehicle. Thanks to friends and family I was able to try the rack in a few different rigs. I never realized how varied garment hooks are from one vehicle to the next. Installation worked for all but one of the vehicles I tried it in (a 2001 Pontiac Aztek). The heavy duty plastic hooks only worked on one vehicle. The metal rings worked in all but the Aztek. The included velcro straps are plenty long enough to quickly secure the rings to the garment hooks and prevent you from accidentally lifting a rack ring up off a hook. I tried the clothes rack in my partner's Ford pickup last. He's never used a clothes rack and was humoring me. The heavy duty design and black color of the rack actually looked pretty cool in his truck. He works out of his truck everyday. He waited patiently while I snapped a couple pics and then started telling me how he could put the clothes rack to use daily. So that's where it lives now. Items tend to get gobbled up and sucked into the tools, parts and equipment that have to live in his crew cab. Now he hangs his work vest and jacket on it. He's found some S hooks that work great for keeping his ball cap and other smaller items out of harms way. He's a handy guy, I look forward to seeing what other ways he comes up with to utilize the rack. An unexplained accessory was included with the clothes rack. Took me a while to figure out it is a sun visor clip for eyeglasses. Lower your visor. Clip it to the bottom edge with the magnetic flap away from you. Raise the visor. Open the magnetic flap, put the side ear pieces of your closed sunglasses in the elastic portion and close the magnetic flap. Sweet bonus! Read more
